I'm still morbidly curious. Is there anywhere else where I might download the teaser?

New trailer is up: http://dbthemovie.com/trailers/
The comic book was pure cheese. The cartoon was pure cheese. This looks like pure cheese. I'm in. I doubt I'll love it but I'm in.
I just hope this more closely follows the spirit of what the cartoon adapted into Dragonball and less like what the cartoon adapted into Dragonball Z. The latter was too self important and lost a lot of the fun of the former.

I'm in, it looks like it'll be fun and I agree with the above in hoping that it's more Dragonball than Dragonball Z (now, if only Funimation could reason Season 1 uncut, I'm still waiting for that one!).

And much like DBZ, The Matrix Revolutions lost a lot of the sense of fun and wonder of what preceded it.

I'll see it, because it looks cheesy. What they need to do is for the last 47 minutes of the movie is just have Goku in a Kamehameha. Then of course, have little to no payoff.

Re: DragonBall (Live Action) - News, Yada, hmmm
I just came back from seeing this. It was a lot of fun and, much to my delight, it's truer to the spirit of Dragonball than Dragonball Z.
Chow Yun-Fat steals every scene he's in and really got the personality of Roshi 100%. The kid playing Goku was surprisingly good in the role. I like the real world approach to his every day life (all the stuff at the high school) but I also appreciate that they kept that brief so as not to outstay its welcome.
I was also surprised to see that Akira Toriyama served as executive producer for the movie.
It's basically a fun quest movie that manages not to drag or outstay its welcome. That said, I feel that the film may have gotten cut a lot in order to make the runtime leaner. There are some awkward cuts here and there. The most that stands out in my mind is when Yamcha first meets Roshi. There's a funny misunderstanding when Yamcha offers Roshi a fist bump. While the gag is in full swing, the scene suddenly cuts to Yamcha drilling a hole through a wall so they can reach the next Dragonball.
I wouldn't be surprised if there is an extended cut on BD/DVD and I'd be all for it since there are some loose threads/plot holes the film proper never addresses.
I would also have liked just a little more time (though not so much time that it would totally veer into Dragonball Z territory) spent in the Toi San tournament.
Anyhoo, it's a good movie and I'll gladly watch it again and purchase the eventual BD release.

Oh and it's nice to see Ernie Hudson still getting work, even if it was an extended cameo at best.

I just got back from it as well, I really enjoyed it. I hope a lot of people go out to see it, although it seems like there was ZERO advertising for it.

There was a ton of advertising for this movie, but much like the Hannah Montana movie, it is only on specific channels. I got bored one night and watched an episode of Spongebob, every other commercial was for Dragonball or H. Montana.

But the marketing does suck. I've seen more ads for Hannah Montana: The Movie than Dragonball: Evolution. Apparently it was heavily marketed in Asia and is doing well there. They should have done the same here.

Good to hear a couple of good posts about this. I'm expecting garbage, but I'm hoping just for some good fun. I'm actually looking foward to seeing this tomorrow.

As long as you go into it looking for it to be true to the spirit of Dragonball and not a panel by panel recreation of the comic series, you'll enjoy it, Sessa17.
Now if you're one of those fans that demands this film be uber-serious and ridiculously dramatic (seriously, do they even remember the comics/cartoons?), then you'll walk out disappointed.

Yeah, that is totally all that I'm looking for. I haven't been following the buzz or talk about this movie, but I'm sure fans are in an outrage over the movie from the moment it was announced. I loved Dragonball when I was a kid, so I'm just hoping for some fun with this. A perfect recreation wouldn't even make for a good movie.

I was shocked to discover James Marsters played Piccolo (totally unrecognizable under the green skin makeup) and that Emmy Rossum was the cute techno-whiz. Was Rossum just slumming or is this how far off the casting map she's fallen since 'Phantom of the Opera'? For a while I'd thought they had dubbed in Rossum's voice because she had this really flat, lowkey voice with nary an emotive inflection to her voice.
