watch the video if you don't believe it took him merely minutes to get his gun. the lady there who works there said so.

If true, why do people shown in his films always backlash against him, saying how they were used or the scene was edited. Why admit in another documentary that the scene was fake?

As far as the bank/gun scene in BFC, the bank really did get Michael Moore the gun that day. Manipulative? Yeah, but not "staged" to where the bank employees did only what Michael Moore told them to do.

If Socialism if your ideal why not move to a country where it's already "working"?

Brack 11-10-07 08:02 PM

I don't have the means to.

I'm just talking about health care, you know, people able to contribute to society. When millions of people go without health insurance because it is so expensive, I think something needs to be done. Some form of universal health care could greatly help those who can't afford it. But, fuck them, right?

Michael Moore is more full of shit than over ½ of the clogged-up public toilets that i've seen.

Brack, sad as it is, many people, including a shitload of people on this forum, have that self-orbiting worldview that militates against giving up anything for the greater good. It's just a different, unfortunate way of looking at things. Trying to teach them values they don't, and won't, possess is an exercise in futility and masochism. You're just buying yourself a heart attack or an aneurism; and you'll be SOL if you can't afford treatment for it.

Brack 11-11-07 12:28 AM

you're very right.

MartinBlank 11-11-07 01:01 AM

The more power you allow the government to have the less free we are as a people.

Say the gummy-mint enacts full-on Socialized Hillarycare...."Oh, you own a gun? I'm sorry, that's bad for your health. Please turn it in to your local police station." The 2nd Amendment has just been destroyed, and without the 2nd, the remaining stand no chance. But I'm old schrool in that respect...the 2nd protects us from the government...but then again, I want a Representative Republic not a Socialist/Communistic State.

Brack 11-11-07 11:08 AM

Right, because the most important thing about being free is owning a gun.

An armed populous is the ONLY thing that keeps a government in check.

Brack 11-11-07 01:28 PM

And government is the only thing that keeps people in check.

Wow. You wanna expound on that theory?

Brack 11-11-07 01:49 PM

why should I? you haven't expounded yours.

MartinBlank 11-11-07 01:55 PM

Why do people need to be kept "in check"? What exactly is your definition of freedom?

I know, right? It's not like people ever do bad things. It's only the government.

Never having to feel like I need to own a gun.

dlinke01 11-11-07 04:00 PM

That's security.

Brack 11-11-07 04:14 PM

It sure is.

dlinke01 11-11-07 04:22 PM

Having the government make us feel like we will never need a gun is just security. And that is the opposite of freedom.

Brack 11-11-07 06:36 PM

But isn't having a gun just security as well? Wouldn't that be the opposite of freedom?

dlinke01 11-11-07 06:54 PM

No. Because you are choosing it. Guns are our only defense against radical oppressive governments that take advantage of their citizens.

Brack 11-11-07 07:04 PM

So we don't choose our government?

dlinke01 11-11-07 07:08 PM

We do completely. But governments sometimes take advantage. Just look at Hugo Chavez or even how the Nazis took power. And our government will never be able to do that until we allow them to, and that is because of our guns.
