G.I. Joe - Directed by Stephen Sommers. Summer 2009
I was at the official G.I. Joe convention this past weekend in Atlanta.
They talked about the G.I. Joe movie, and showed an interview with Stephen Sommers. He seems genuinely excited about the project.
The same production team that did Transformers is on the G.I. Joe movie. They asked for suggestions/our opinion for cast members. They are aiming for a summer 2009 release through Paramount.
This will be a "G.I. Joe vs Cobra" movie, based on the characters in the comic/tv show/action figure line.
I'm looking forward to this one!

I think there's another thread for this movie somewhere already.
But anyway, have the film's producers set up any kind of web site where we can submit casting suggestions? If they're really serious about taking suggestions then that's what they need to do.

Hmmm, he pretty much lost most of my respect after Van Helsing. But the Mummy films were decent popcorn films despite their faults, so maybe this will work. The big thing is they need to keep him away from the CGI, because he has really poor judgment when it comes to CGI. In fact, some of my least favorite uses of CGI ever come from his films.
