Did you know that:

http://www.incognitocomics.co.uk/_pics/FS_410001.jpg

was also the voice of:

No.

Yes.

FinkPish 10-01-07 12:18 PM

That's funny, I just saw something on Cracked.com about this.

Dauber from Coach = Patrick Star on Spongebob.

Charlie Goose 10-01-07 12:20 PM

Didja know that the spaceman in the family movie Toy Story was voiced by an ex-con drug dealer?

lotsofdvds 10-01-07 01:20 PM

I was surprised to find out that Lori Alan did the voices of...

(Diane Simmons/Family Guy)

(The Boss/Metal Gear Solid 3)

Frank Welker has done a million voices over the years, from Nibbler (Futurama) to Fred (Scooby Doo) .

Wow!

Ratatouille has several of these. I found it interesting that they didn't actually hire French actors but had non-French actors doing accents, which must have been intentional. Ian Holm I can understand because he's played Napoleon a few times, but I don't remember Janeane Garofalo doing a French accent before and I probably would have never guessed that was her.

Working in radio I'm always keeping up with Voiceover work in animation, commercials, video games, and other media. You'd be shocked at what actors are doing what these days. There was a time when actors thought Voiceover work was beneath them but that changed many years back so now the small voiceover actor is having to compete with major stars for voicework.

Video game voicework is hot and I've seen many well known actors doing characters and even small parts.

I still don't know why Hugo Weaving was Megatron in Transformers. They put so much crap on his voice you couldn't even tell it was him. So why bother? Why not just hire Welker?

MartinBlank 10-02-07 02:09 PM

Bill Fagerbakke from TV's Coach is apparently the voice of Patrick Star from Spongebob Squarepants.

Liev Schreiber does a whole lot of voice over work for PBS doc's - his voice work/narration doesn't seem as deep as compared to when he's in film / stage ('Talk Radio' was great!) and when I met him in person last fall.

Giles 10-02-07 02:16 PM

Dave Coulier (from Full House) also does alot of voice work:

BobSchlapowitz 10-02-07 06:49 PM

Brad Garrett

star of "Everybody Loves Raymond" and "Til Death" was also the voice of
http://www.tvparty.com/bgifs16/hulk87.jpg
Hulk Hogan on the "Hulk Hogan's Rock N' Wrestling" cartoon from the 1980's

MartinBlank 10-02-07 08:15 PM

Does this guy do any voicework?

I heard somewhere that Yoda was voiced by Grover from Sesame Street.

But seriously...

I think it's interesting to see actors who are just now coming into their own in real life did earlier work in voice. I just found out recently that Hayden Pannniittererinettrernterinererniter from Heroes was Princess Dot in A Bug's Life.

Looking at some old VHS tapes on my shelf reminded me that before he was the big name that he is now, Jim Carrey was the voice of the exterminator robot in the Itsy Bitsy Spider short cartoon that preceeded Bebe's Kids in 1992.

On a side note, I still find it cool, and a little bittersweet, to hear Phil Hartman's voice coming from my Blasto video game. Not something I play too often, but there ya go.

He also voiced Dennis' Dad in the 80's cartoon of Dennis the Menace.

Welker's voice apparently couldn't handle it anymore. That Megatron voice he did twenty years ago was pretty rough on the old vocals, methinks.
