Is Dane Cook's movie career (hopefuly) dying a quick death?
Seeing the reviews (3% on RottenTomatoes.com) and lackluster box office of the latest abomination starring this unfunny jerk, could his movie career thankfully be headed down the drain where it belongs?

Never liked his stand up. Haven't seen "Mr. Brooks" yet. Was in and out of the theater so I'm renting it when it comes out in October. Cook also has a supporting role in the new Robert Benton film with Greg Kinnear. He could pull of these type off rolls. And should stop with the low brow.

I was always a fan of his standup, but I think he could be picking better roles (with the exception of Mr. Brooks which I haven't seen). Although I did enjoy Waiting.

FYI I graduated in 1995, and know many people who graduated before and after me that all enjoy Dane Cook.

Don't like the guy at all. I think his stand-up is mediocre. That said, some of my friends (30-somethings who are attorneys, computer nerds, sports agents) dig the guy.
Hopefully for his sake he has a blossoming film career. I just don't see it happening.

Don't care for his stand up from the small bits that i've heard, but he wasn't bad in Good Luck Chuck despite the reviews. I think he can pull off the actor stuff if he tried harder.

I think a lot of the hate comes from overexposure. I think people who were late to the party or just not interested in the first place just got sick of hearing so much about him, so the bashing began. I liked him before his stand up wasn't shown over and over on Comedy Central and his routine wasn't being done over and over by idiot college kids. I still like his stuff, but for a while I was sick of hearing him. And I don't think these roles are the right kind of thing for him.

On a side note... who has he stolen material from? (not refuting your claim, just curious as this is the first I have heard of it)
