Ouch! What's the next big release? Jodie's movie? Is that expected to do well? Reviews are great so far.

I expected a big drop for Halloween, but this looks pretty f'in steep. It'll probably wind up with under $10m this weekend. I want to go see 3:10, so I might catch a matinee tomorrow. Death Sentence will probably be out on DVD next week at this rate.

Still, holding at number 2 above Shoot Em Up is pretty impressive.

Hatchet bombed on Friday as well, only making about $530 per screen.

Slow weekend... I wish 3:10 to Yuma got more press and advertising. I don't think I saw a commercial at all for it. I would think Crowe is a big enough actor to push for this sort of thing.

3:10 to Yuma would probably have better legs if their were'nt so many other movies for adults in the coming weeks (including another western). For some reason it didnt come to my local theatre and I had to see superbad which i was very dissapointed by.
Finally Fall is here and the good movies can come out from the shadows!

September has always been a pretty terrible month at the box office for #1s, hasn't it?

Generally early September is a very slow period. Later September generally picks up. I think next weekend will do well with the new Jodie Foster movie.

Brother's Solomon really bombed hard.

Also impressive: Superbad holding above Shoot 'Em Up, in it's 3rd week.

Superbad should top 100 million this weekend.

My local theater was packed tonight for Yuma. I guess it plays better in rural south.

I'm anxious to see how D-Wars does next week. :lol:

My theater was pretty full here in So Cal...

I'm also wondering how it'll do. I'm guessing it won't do well, but it's a huge hit overseas already.

Peter Fonda was on Glenn Beck & I’m looking forward to the DVD release in January. I could be wrong but wasn’t 3:10 to Yuma supposed to be released theatrically in October?

I’ve seen quite a few commercials for it up here in Canada.

I included Stardust (11th) 'cause I went and saw it last night and the theater was about half full (120 people or so).

For a horror film, Halloween's second weekend drop wasn't too bad. Freddy Vs Jason had a bigger drop (both releases around the same time) and it's about on par with the Dawn of the Dead remake.

What is D-Wars?

A Korean CGI dragon movie. Like dragons attacking New York and stuff.

Then I must watch the only 3 networks they did buy time on because I swear every commercial break had an ad for it. Still, I can't wait to see it.

Brothers Solomon tanked but I can't recall seeing a single ad for it and I don't think I ever saw the trailer theatrically - I saw it online and downloaded it on my ps3.... there was only about 10 people in the theatre when I saw it, and I had to drive out of my way to find a theatre that even was showing it.

To be fair, I haven't been watching a whole lot of tv lately since it's the summer, so maybe that's why. I don't recall seeing the trailer in front of any big movies over the summer too.

I think it went from then to early 08, then back to September... Ive been looking forward to it for awhile and even I was surprised to see it coming out so soon.

I think they were trying to avoid getting too close to Crowe's other movie "American Gangster"... They were probably right in releasing it first rather than sitting on it... despite it's mild box office.

FvJ was number 1 for 2 weeks in a row, though.
