Brainstorm movie list: Individual vs. Institution/Matrix

I'm working on a project and I need to compile a good list of films that demonstrate the struggle of an individual or small group against institutional powers, be they government, corporations, or any oppressive all-powerful organization. Bonus points for an individual who "wakes up" while the rest of the populace remains ignorant or passive.

Think:
The Matrix
Network

We'd even stretch the definition to cover an individual born into or thrust into a false world (like The Matrix, or even Truman Show...), only to be awakened. Seriously, anything from The Wizard of Oz to Three Days of the Condor. Okay, you get the idea - enough rules... any ideas? Thanks...

I'll go outside the box to start: A Bug's Life . . . and then I'll take the Rowdy Roddy Piper classic "They Live" for the bonus points! Some other all-time faves of mine: Dark City,
Donnie Darko, and . . . wait a minute . . . aren't pretty much all movies about the struggle of an individual against the masses?

Dark City is definitely on my list, but I hadn't even thought of They Live. That's great! Another one that just popped to mind is Blade Runner...

Not just Blade Runner, but most of Phillip K Dick's stories: Minority Report, Impostor, Total Recall, A Scanner Darkly, etc.

cf took my first two thoughts: V for Vendetta and Brazil

By your definition, this list could include a wide array of films from Breakfast Club to Boondock Saints. Here's an additional few ...

Equilibrium
Fahrenheit 451
1984
Logan's Run
THX-1138
Falling Down
The Matrix
The Insider
The Island
The Longest Yard
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Real Genius
They Live
The Punisher

I immediately thought of Logan's Run and THX-1138, but I see visitor Q already mentioned them.

How about ?

"the struggle of an individual or small group (i.e. Skywalker and the Rebels) against institutional powers, be they government, corporations, or any oppressive all-powerful organization (i.e. Vader and The Empire)"

Dune...Paul wakes up, knocks down the power brokers of the universe.

Batman Begins...Bruce, through the death of his parents, Rha's A Ghul's teachings, and his wayward pre-Batman life path, wakes up to take the fight to the oppressive corruption of Gotham
