"Bratz" bashing, I mean reviews

I must say, I've been waiting for this to open if only to read the reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Two of my favorites so far, and the best I've ever seen.

"The is why the terrorists hate us" - Nathan Ravin Onion Club

"BRATZ is like being raped by MySpace" - Joshua Tyler CinemaBlend.com

I always see the toys in stores and think this is what teaches little girls to grow up and be sluts, yeah I can't believe they made a movie out of these toys.

I'm shocked that a movie based off of a children's doll is getting bad reviews.

How is this any different from any other movie based on kids toys though?
Aren't the Bratz supposed to be teenagers?

More sh*t hits the screen! I feel for the parents that are going to be dragged to this piece of sh*t by their kids.

I've seen it twice. It's actually a deep skewering of the teenage caste system, not unlike Heathers or Mean Girls (although I rate it slightly higher than those earlier films). I don't know anything about the dolls/toys/cartoon that this is based on.

They shouldn't let their kids drag them to this sort of crap in the first place. I imagine that most parents that would be able to have their kids talk them into taking them to see this trash are whorish and stuck up enough as it is.

I also think it's horrible that, as a reviewer on RT says, their aiming a teenage story at 8 year old children. Do teenage girls even care about the Bratz line? I've always thought it was aimed directly at very young children, and not actually to teenagers. It's bad enough that they aim the bullshit toys at young children, but now a movie?

And speaking of the entire "Bratz" line, how horrible is it that the toys are far more whorish looking than the girls in the movie seem to be?

This movie can't be better than Heathers.

Seemed to work for Transformers (which also had John Voight), and people LOVED that.

And a threadcrapper sticking up for crap movies. Regardless who they're aimed at. And oh, btw, professional critics are trashing the movie too. There are plenty of GOOD films aimed at eight year olds.

Aren't there younger versions of the Bratz - Lil' Bratz and Bratz Babyz (you just knew they'd spell it like that). And they still dress like sluts - only smaller. Now THAT I find disturbing.
If the dolls/girls in the cartoon are supposed to be teens, why is the toy-line aimed at little girls?
Don't forget Bratz Rock Angels.

Was Transformers a toy first, or a cartoon? I'm honestly not sure. Anyway,
Transformers has a "rotten" rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and I thought it SUCKED. I stand by my comment, is it any surprise to see a movie based off a kids doll getting shitty reviews?
