Stardust

I am really looking forward to this movie. Gaimain is an amazing author and I saw him interviewed about Stardust at Comic-Con. He sounds really excited about it. I have seen some really positive reviews out there. What do you guys think about this one?

oh they also have a wicked cool myspace page i have been playing around with, worth checking out:

The trailer made me think of Labyrinth, in a good way. Looks like they made a lot of changes from the book, but it still looks awesome. And if Gaiman is excited about it, that's enough for me.

I didn't feel this movie at all. DeNiro as a gay pirate might sound funny on paper, but the execution was painfully bad. And none of the leads worked for me; I love Claire Danes but her dialogue seemed forced and hackneyed and Charlie Cox just doesn't have enough stage presence. Michelle Pfeiffer was the best part of the film; she's great as an ages-old witch. The whole film just comes across as wanting to be "The Princess Bride" really, really badly, but it can't get anywhere close.

Just my opinion, of course. Other critics seem to dig it.

I think it's a good film but the marketing seems to be going a bit bonky for it to be anything even close to not a failure box office wise.

It really is like Princess Bride and the book is a great read.

Saw it last night at a free screening. Entertaining, but really wants to be Princess Bride. The previews are definitely misleading in making people think it's more of a swashbuckling adventure, when it is more of a comedy with fantasy elements. Clever, but doubt it will catch on with the masses. Seemed to have a Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy vibe about it as well (which I thought was entertaining as well).
