Paris to star in organ-harvesting movie musical

Paris came in and owned it,’ says director Darren Lynn Bousman
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20061907/

Hilton will co-star with Paul Sorvino and Alexa Vega in “Repo! The Genetic Opera,” which begins shooting in September in Canada, Hilton’s publicist, Elliot Mintz, said Tuesday.
Who is going to see this piece of JUNK???? Does anybody really think this woman is going to bring in audiences?

Darren Lynn is best known for his Saw movies, and this one is actually apparently a remake of his own movie he did in 2006, or at least that's how it looks on IMDB.

And Elliot Mintz...he used to work with John Lennon back in the day and now he's representing this hooker? How much crack did he smoke before taking her as a client?

I don't know why Darren Lynn Bousman would sabotage his own project by putting Paris Hilton in it.

This movie actually has a decent cast & having Paul Sorvino (Goodfellas, Law & Order), Tobin Bell (Saw franchise, The Kill Point, Seinfeld-"The Old Man") & hell Alexa Vega is cute but adding Paris Hilton to anything is automatically going to ruin the whole fu*king thing.

Damn.

I saw "organ-harvesting movie musical" and thought it might be a Guy Maddin project.

Alas...

I cant believe Paul Sorvino would actually go thru with this now that that piece of trash got signed for it. Not just Sorvino (a big name) but the others as well. Signing Hilton probably just cinched " a big failure" unfortunately.

This isn't a big deal. I pretty much don't check out movies with Paul Sorvino or Tobin Bell or watch ones directed by Bousman. So, the casting of Paris is really the only thing that has me mildly interested.

Looks like a good, SICK, fun time.

I'm a sucker for that sort of weirdo juxtaposition of violence and laughter.

I'll be suprised if it gets released without distribution issues, pushed-back release dates, etc.

Saw the preview during the Scream Awards on Spike.

Looks awesome... Anthony Stewart Head, Bill Moseley, Sarah Brightman...

I think youre not giving enough credit to Paris for being a soulless fembot. She is quite serviceable in movie roles, I think, especially when there is little dialog and a lot of artificiality ("House of Wax"). So yeah, maybe this dumbness could actually be a stroke of brilliant casting!

At least its not Lindsay Lohan.....

You are correct. Darren Lynn Bousman is pretty efficient on how fast he can put out his movies. I didn't even know they started shooting or finished shooting for that matter, especially since it was only announced a few weeks ago that Anthony Head got the lead for the film. This is also supposed to be Bousman's baby since he originally directed the first stage preformance of the opera.

It also helps that it'll be promoted this weekend with Saw IV. I don't think Lionsgate will delay it at all.

Then again, they promoted Trade last year with Saw III -- which was supposed to come out in April of 2007 until Lionsgate dropped the film and it didn't come out a few weeks ago (where it tanked) under Roadside Attractions.

This could be the next Citizen Kane, but having that whore in it still ruins any possible desire I might have to see it.

I'm more sickened by the fact that people still give Bousman money.

Yeah, I mean he's only had 3 huge hits in the past 2 years, what are the studios thinking?
