Does anyone know what movie they are reviewing when Ebert asks Roeper, "How can your heart be so cold?"
I keep trying to see if I can read the title in the image behind Ebert, but I can't make it out.

I watched the review for "Raising Arizona" yesterday and Ebert tells Siskel that in five years they will look back and Siskel will realize that "True Stories" was a better film.
Now I love "True Stories", mainly for my obsession with the Talking Heads, but even i will realize that RA is a classic and TS is found in the Wal-Mart bargin bin

Normally, I hate to thread bump...
However, it was this thread that introuced me to the capability of watching many old reviews from Siskel and Ebert. For years, I had the following saved in my favorites and used it just a week or two ago, I believe: http://bventertainment.go.com/tv/bue...bertandroeper/
Now the link doesn't work. Just trying to go to bventertainment.go.com takes you to a website for Mirimax films. Did I miss an announcement about this? I've searched for a few minutes but can't find info anywhere or another link that works. Anyone know anything?

I was thinking this was "new" news, until I started looking at the dates.
anyways, wouldn't have known about this without the thread bump, so thanks! I used to love watching these episodes.

I am guessing that this will be sorted out when the new show debuts in January.
I hadn't checked it out in a while, but was the site removed when At the Movies was canceled?

Nope. It was up until about a week or so ago. Let's hope it gets sorted out soon. I'm pretty sure that someone has probably asked Ebert what's going on already, and it will probably be answered in The Answer Man Column soon.

Good news. New place to watch old S&E reviews. New to me, at least.

And it is relegated to the discount racks with a shitty p&s transfer and that's a shame. Great movie.

Cannot disagree more. Some parts of True Stories are amusing. I actually listen to the soundtrack a helluva lot.
Raising Arizona is one of the funniest movies I've seen. Period.

A new book about Siskel and Ebert just came out

In Opposable Thumbs, award-winning editor and film critic Matt Singer eavesdrops on their iconic balcony set, detailing their rise from making a few hundred dollars a week on local Chicago PBS to securing multimillion-dollar contracts for a syndicated series (a move that convinced a young local host named Oprah Winfrey to do the same). Their partnership was cut short when Gene Siskel passed away in February of 1999 after a battle with brain cancer that he’d kept secret from everyone outside his immediate family—including Roger Ebert, who never got to say goodbye to his longtime partner. But their influence on in the way we talk about (and think about) movies continues to this day.
