I really like the end as well.

The scene that gives me chills is Atticus Finch
Spoiler:
leaving the courtroom when the people stand up to show respect for him.

Also, a newer movie, was Children of Men when
Spoiler:
the guy was leading the lady and her baby out of the building and facing gun shots. And the people stopped what they were doing and just looked at them.

Gah, I forgot how amazing the scores to Batman (89) and the Superman movies were. The initial theme is ok and memorable but when it cuts to the end (like in that youtube video) gah it gives me goosebumps, beautiful music.

The end of Robocop.

"Nice shootin' son, what's your name?"

"Murphy."

cue fucking awesome music.

The Bus 07-14-07 01:37 PM

Gwyneth Paltrow as Margot Tenenbaum exiting the bus to Nico gets me every time.

That's why I love film music. It has that power to help define special moments in film.

I guess it more or less gives me the creeps as well as the chills, but the scene when Toni Collette is walking and "looks" at Robin Williams at the motel in "The Night Listener". Just an eerie moment, I thought.

diane lane getting it from behind in unfaithful... gives me chills all the time

Many scenes give me the chills. I'm a softy.

I'll mention these just because probably no one else will.

Dancing in the barn in Witness.

Last line in Birdy:
Spoiler:
"What?"

Without a doubt...the T-Rex roaring as the banner that says "When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth" falls to the ground at the very end of Jurassic Park. That movie has numerous iconic moments in it, but that scene truly gives me chills every time I see it. Another scene in that movie that really gets to me is when the T-Rex saves the humans by grabbing the Raptor and throwing it into the skeleton in the lobby. Mainly because it was so unexpected the first time I saw it and I was practically cheering when it happened because I thought it was so cool.

Now that I think about it the "T-Rex roaring as the banner falls down" scene is more or less a continuation of the "T-Rex throwing the raptor into the skeleton" scene. Basically that entire scene from the time the that the humans find themselves in the lobby of the visitor center to the time where they actually run out of the visitor center is frickin awesome.

The only other scene I can think of that really "gets to me" is the big reveal in Aliens when the Queen stabs Bishop.

I have to chime in with the ending of Cinema Paradiso.

It's so sweet, charming and sad... it gets me every time.

There's a scene in "Fellowship Of The Ring" that gave me chills the first time I saw it and still does. When Arwen crosses the stream with Frodo and turns to see the Ringwraiths behind her. The head Wraith says, "Give us the halfling." Arwen says, "If you want him, come and claim him!" She then starts chanting some sort of echo-ey spell and summons the water horses to trample the Wraiths.

That "chanting spell" scene gives me chills every time. It shows that despite her petite appearance, Arwen is not a creature to be effed with.

Along with that is the first time they see the dinosaurs. It's been a while since I've seen that movie, but I remember always getting excited when that giant foot comes down, attatched to a giant dinosaur.

Right. Grant says "look it's a dinosaur" and then Malcolm says "he did it...the crazy sonofabitch...he did it" Then a little while later the camera pans over to a long shot of a whole herd of dinosaurs while the music starts blasting. Sweet ass.

I don't know what it is about that movie, but there are just so many memorable scenes that really get my blood pumping even after all these years.

I know the 3rd movie tried to sort of down play the T-Rex and make the raptors out to be sort of the main dinosaur villain, but I could never understand why. They even introduced another big stupid looking dinosaur for no reason. Even to this day I still think the T-Rex from the first movie and to a lesser extent, the second one, is simply the coolest thing I've ever seen in a movie. Sure, Optimus Prime was cool. So was the Balrog from Lord of the Rings. The Queen from Aliens was totally badass too and there have been some other really cool stuff in movies throughout the years, but for me nothing can top the T-Rex. Maybe it was because I was 13 years old when it first came out and actually seeing a dinosaur totally blew me away, but for me I doubt anything will ever be able to top those T-Rex scenes from Jurassic Park.

Noticed that music and imagery is popular here. You could throw in Elias and Adagio from Platoon for me.
But one that always continues to get my heart going is "The Ecstacy of Gold" from GOOD/BAD/UGLY.

You've waited 2+hours to finally be within grasp of the treasure, but reality sets in and you have to spend a lengthy amount of time to try to find the tombstone where the treasure is located. Notice how the music seems to let Tuco know if he's hot or cold. A sequence that never loses it's thrill no matter how many times I watch it.
