Characters that are silent for most of a movie but then have a memorable line/scene?

Sure, Silent Bob in the Kevin Smith movies comes to mind.

But I was watching Miami Vice recently and realized that Elizabeth Rodriguez's Detective Calabrese really only has two scenes in the movie where she speaks, but the final one is a killer, pun intended.

This is where the Aryan brother is holding the detonator and is threatening to blow everything up. And her cool reply, said while she's looking through a scope:

"That's not what happens. What will happen is... what will happen is I will put a round at twenty-seven hundred feet per second into the medulla at the base of your brain. And you will be dead from the neck down before your body knows it. Your finger won't even twitch. Only you get dead. So tell me, sport, do you believe that?"

If you've seen the movie, you know what happens next.

So, what are other minor characters that are constantly in a movie but only have 1 or 2 very good scenes? I'm not talking about cameo appearances or people in only a short scene.

Gnaghi in Cemetary Man.

In literature, one of my favorite examples of this is Toto in the Oz books.

In one of the 60s beach movies there is this guy who sits in the corner of the teen "hangout". He wears a big straw hat and his head is down so you can't see his face. He never speaks. At the very end everybody gets real quite because he's about to speak. He raises his head and it's
Spoiler:
Vincent Price whos says something like "groovy man" or "far out". Can't remember.

I was also thinking the soldier (Kurt Russell) in Soldier. He doesn't speak more than a few lines thru the entire movie.

Finlay Currie in People Will Talk (1951).

When he does talk it is the big, defining moment of that wonderful film.

Reuben Feffer's (Ben Stiller) father in "Along Came Polly". He is silent the entire movie and then gives 1 speech to Phillip Seymour Hoffman at the end.
