Roeper gave it fresh review as well (3 stars).

Yet another review states:
"Die Hard 4.0 is as good as, if not better than, the original, and sets a very high bar for the whole action genre. Old habits, it seems, really do die hard."
Could this be the best of the sequels?

Old-school, bare-knuckle action -- McClane delivers and then some
I am shocked at the good reviews this one is getting.

It's funny. I fully expect the people that said "I won't see it with the PG-13 rating" now to do a complete 180 since it is getting great reviews.

From the sfgate review:
I know whenever people ask me what I'm afraid of most in this post-911 world of ours I always tell them it's the possible existence of elite bands of computer geniuses, who might seem like poorly nourished and poorly groomed young people, but who, in fact, know all about stuff like "mutating algorithmic security codes" and are currently reading my e-mail.
"Live Free or Die Hard" plays off of two fears that pervade our present culture: 1) terrorism; and 2) the possible existence of elite bands of computer geniuses, who might seem like poorly nourished and poorly groomed young people, but who, in fact, know all about stuff like "mutating algorithmic security codes" and are currently reading your e-mail.

Oh, that reminds me, you've got mail.

I was kind of peeved that it got the PG-13 rating myself, but it wasn't going to stop me from seeing a all out popcorn action flick this summer.

I saw "Live Free" last night; I went in thinking I would be disappointed (aka good action scenes, crappy everything else) but I was totally blown away. Really, really enjoyed this film.

I am sure they stay up at night and wonder what we all think.

I've stayed out of the whole "OMGBBQ! It;s PG-13" discussion, waiting until the movie was released to reviews to make any viewing decisions.
That said, I have a hard time believing that this film is better than what many consider to be the best action movie ever made.

Is it me, or do the trailers not make it look that great? I'm definitely going to be there, but all the Die-Hard films have this gritty action to them, and this one seems a little suped up. Stunts look good no doubt, but it just doesn't look quite right. I haven't even seen the absurdly bloody wife beater in the trailer (though I think I have only seen teaser ads). The "I'm a Mac" guy doesn't help, either.
Had this been any other action flick with Willis, I'd say it looks good. As a Die-Hard film...I am not sure.
