Toy Story 3

Toy Story 3 Update

Pixar has ''great idea'' for sequel.

June 11, 2007 - Pixar has Toy Story 3 on track for a 2010 release. Details about the third film in the beloved CG-animated franchise are, of course, being kept tightly under wraps, but director Lee Unkrich recently spoke to TIME magazine about the upcoming sequel.

"We got an idea we thought would be really great," says Unkrich, who co-directed Toy Story 2 and Finding Nemo. "We're just starting to write the story. I wakeup every morning hoping for an eureka moment."

Unkrich also told the magazine that frequent Pixar collaborator Randy Newman will compose the score for the film.

Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are expected to return to voice their roles of Buzz Lightyear and Woody. Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine) is writing the script.

Pixar will follow Ratatouille, in theaters June 29, with Wall-E, a robot love story. And their 2009 release will be Up, the story of an old man who travels the world fighting exotic beasts and villains.

The version Disney was doing without Pixar's input.

I certainly hope not. Disney without Pixar now-a-days doesn't interest me in the least.

So we can see how much it sucked? That would be like putting Roger Corman's Fantastic Four on the new Fantastic Four as a bonus feature.

Re: Toy Story 3

Haven't heard much about this movie recently, but I was at a Don Rickles show last night and during the act he mentioned how he's currently working on Toy Story 3 (to great applause). Sounds like it's right on track.

Re: Toy Story 3

The first and second movies will be released as a 3-D double feature in the fall, with the 3-D Part 3 following in 2010.

Didn't realize they were doing the second one in 3D as well. Groovy.

They are even releasing the Toy Story Mania on the Wii to come out right when Toy Story 1 released in 3D.

Toy Story 3 Teaser should be out on May 29th. I am pumped.

Re: Toy Story 3

Perfect teaser.... So are we getting a new voice for Slink? Or might they piece together something from the leftover outtakes? lol...

This thing'll be huge next yr.... at least 400 million.

400 million!?? That's certainly wishful thinking. How about a 450M? Anything to outgross that awful "Shrek 2" as the biggest computer animinated film of all-time. Can you believe that's number one!?

Awesome teaser.

I'm also curious about how they are going to handle Jim Varney's voice.

the teaser's cute, but not all that! the 3D version before Up is visually blah.

None of those HD links work (already?!). Has anyone been able to find any others? I've been scanning google, but no luck so far.

Well, any Rich Little like impersonator can easily step in for that.

Re: Toy Story 3

Regarding Jim Varney, according to this article, they found a good friend of Varney's that sounds a lot like him.
