X-Men Help

I never watched the x-men movies but now would like to, can someone give me the correct order. I am renting off of blockbuster online I see one called x-men 1.5, would this be the first, if so which ones follow after. thanks

canaryfarmer 06-02-07 10:09 PM

Well, I would watch the first X-Men movie, then the second X-Men movie (X2), and then the third X-Men movie (X3). It's uh, not very complicated.

Jackskeleton 06-02-07 10:09 PM

^^The complication I see comes from Fox stupidly saying 1.5 when that makes it sound like there is a part 1 out there and 1.5 is a different or in between film.

Yes, 1.5 is the first film. It was just a stupid name for the re-release DVD that came out for the first film.

from that you go in order. 1.5, 2, 3.

resinrats 06-02-07 10:39 PM

Isn't there a 2.5 version of the second movie?

canaryfarmer 06-02-07 10:42 PM

It never appeared, after lots of talk online about it.

Mr. Cinema 06-02-07 10:45 PM

Here's a quick review of each:

X-men 1.5: good starting point for the series
X2: best of the series
X-men The Last Stand: ugh

Apone 06-02-07 10:46 PM

Wow. All this time I thought 1.5 was just a collection of bonus materials (kinda like Peter Jackson's King Kong).

Thought the same thing

canaryfarmer 06-02-07 10:52 PM

1.5 still has the same theatrical version of the movie, though. There are more extras, and deleted scenes are accessed during the movie, but it's not like there's a director's cut within or anything.

Jackskeleton 06-02-07 11:40 PM

But remember folks. the order to see Spider-man is Spider-man, Spider-man 2, Spider-man 2.1 Spider-man 3

The order to see Star Wars is 3, 4, 5 and then forget the rest.

canaryfarmer 06-03-07 12:41 AM

But then you don't get to see the Falcon fly thorugh the Death Star II and blow it sky-high. Ooh! and the sail barge fight! And the lightsaber thrashing of Luke on Vader with the cool chorus singing in the background! And Ackbar's little smile once the gigantic Star Destroyer starts crashing! There's too much gold in 6 to ignore it out-right.

Kudama 06-03-07 01:02 AM

 watch them in order.

pfft. who needs muppets in space? nevermind my order. Just watch 1 4 and 6. I might not sound right but it works out in the end.

Original Desmond 06-03-07 01:53 AM

2 is light years ahead of the others

Jackskeleton 06-03-07 02:21 AM

What about 2.1?

Graftenberg 06-03-07 04:04 AM

That part I got, thanks for the sarcasm, its the x-men evolution mystiques revenge, the last stand, and the legend of wolverine where do these fall in place after the first 3?

Edit: I think I just figured out that mystiques revenge and the legend of wolverine are animated, thanks all.

canaryfarmer 06-03-07 09:52 AM

Yeah, I don't think anyone was thinking of anything but the theatrical films. The X-Men Evolution stuff was just a cartoon created in the wake of the first film, and is not connected in any way to the films. Kind of like Batman: The Animated Series and the Batman theatricals (except that X:E was nowhere near as good).

thanks, that is what confused me, looking at them on BB online it did not say animated, didnt even have a description so I thought they were part of the movie series.

Watch the second half of part three, then the first part of part one, then the second part of part two, then the first part of part three, then the second part of part one.

Trust me, it's worth it to watch it that way.

Now what specific time signatures should I watch for, for the break?

are you F'ing with me?

canaryfarmer 06-04-07 09:08 PM

Also, if you watch all of the end credits for each movie back to back to back first, it really pays off when Wolverine does that thing to the other guy. Oh man, I couldn't sleep for a week!
