That's interesting because I had little emotional response to that movie at all...now Shawshank Redemption, there's a prison movie that moved me. |
Those people that say they weren't moved by Schindler's List - did you see it in the theater or at home?
When I saw this in the theater, every single person in the auditorium was crying, some outright weeping. It's the only movie I've ever been to where absolutely everyone stayed through the end credits. I imagine the impact is far weaker watching it on a Saturday afternoon at home. |

I saw it in the theatre, and as mentioned before only one scene moved me to a certain sadness, and it wasn't Schindler's final remarks. the one thing that did stand out about the 'theatre experience' was that no concessions were sold for it's engagement at the Avalon Theatre here in the District. Something about the tone and content of the film overriding the urge to nosh and view the film at the same time. That must have pissed off Cineplex Odeon not to make a buck on the sale of concession items. |
