WAR!! Statham and Li

I saw this and got unreasonably excited.. I always felt like Jason Statham got cheated in The One.. this ought to be a fun throw-back action movie:

A reteaming of Jet and Jason?

Well, I suppose they couldn't have called it "What is it good for?"...

He was finished with those wuxia films (flying over the air and around trees). I hope this movie will rock now that it doesnt have to have as many fx as One had.

I just watched the trailer. Even though some of the fight choreography appears rehashed from The One and The Transporter, it looks like a whole lot of fun.
Spoiler:
Too bad the trailer gives away that Jet Li is not the bad guy (I assume that honor goes to Kane Kosugi).

As for Li and action movies. He said Fearless was his last wuxia film. Although wuxia is most commonly associated with the flying-through-the-air shenanigans, that's not what he was reffering to. Jet Li felt that Fearless completely expresses his views on martial arts and therefor it will be his last martial arts (or wuxia) film. There was an early interview before the release of Fearless where Jet Li expressed the differences between an action movie and a martial arts movie. Both can have punches and kicks but only the latter is about more than just watching a group of guys (or girls) kick the crap out of each other.

I seem to recall a line like "last martial arts epic" in regards to Jet Li's "retirement" such as it is.

Here'es the movie poster I'm thinking of that says "Jet Li in his last martial arts epic."

I don't know. I love Statham but wasn't really impressed by the trailer. Li has never done anything for me.

I dont' get it. Why not just tweak the script, which looks to be reasonably good for this type of film, and make that Transporter 3? Seems like you could probably keep 90% of what is there the same and just have Frank be the main character.

Btw, hopefully TP3 (are they making this?) will be better than 2.

Statham is cool. Li is cool. The name of the movie is dumb. I'll most likely rent this, but am looking forward to it.

I'll see it just because Devon Aoki is in it. She was cool in Sin City.
