This probably won't accomplish anything, but if you want the film to be rated R -- hard R, not saving any crap for some stupid unrated DVD either -- then post here. If the post count gets high enough we could try and link this thread to the news sites like comingsoon.net and AICN and joblo.com and get more support, and then in turn try to get the information to the attention of Fox.
It's like a petition, sure, and they don't work, but all you have to do is post in the thread. It's worth a shot simply because it is so easy.
ALSO!
GO TO ANY MESSAGE BOARD YOU ARE AFFILIATED WITH AND START THIS SAME THREAD! If we have more than one string of people supporting this cause, and we can send multiple forum links to those websites it will be an even bigger charge.
This isn't an ad. This is MY idea and I'm just trying it for the hell of it. If it goes against forum rules, I have no problem with it being deleted but I feel that it is worth a shot.

By the way: I don't care if Die Hard 4 gets an R or not. If it doesn't, there'll be the inevitable "unrated" DVD.

Since it has no rating, it makes more sense to make a pre-emptive attempt to get the rating to stay at R than to wait until they've already submitted it to the MPAA -- perhaps Fox has not made its decision yet and an argument for the R rating by the fans could be a deciding factor.

I would make a joke, but I can't think of any. I don't really care if I helped do it or not, I just want the movie to be rated R.

what's in it for the studios to release it rated R? They get to release it twice as a PG-13 (theater and DVD) and then a third time as R or Unrated (DVD).

Take Bad Boys II (the most comparable recent film imo), a hard R that teens were certainly interested in(due to the actors). It made 138mill, which is a lot more than this film will make (regardless of the rating).
It's like they're trying to not make it too "Die Hard-ish" (the title, rating, etc) when that is it's best selling point. It should relish in the violence and profanity. In case anyone hasn't noticed, the non-Die Hard Bruce Willis movies haven't been lighting the box office on fire recently...

Why would they rate this PG-13? All of the others have been hard R's. I have no idea how many times they dropped the F-bomb between Bruce and Samuel L Jackson in the last go around.
They can't have a PG-13 Die Hard...they just can't...can they?? Here's hoping for another hard R Die Hard just like I like um.

Fox took 2 successful R-rated franchises (Alien and Predator) and combined them into a PG-13 crapfest. I expect them to do something similar here, just so little Timmy can watch the movie without mommy and daddy there.
