Looks like a decent opening for Ninja Turtles.
|
I actually expected more from Hills 2, even though I didn't think it deserved it. They've been advertising the crap out of it the past few weeks. Looks like it won't make as much as the first one for sure.
|
Expect a big jump for TMNT today. I saw it early this afternoon and the theater was pretty full.
|
Does this mean we can expect a CGI version of Biker Mice From Mars or Battletoads soon?

I was in line for 300 tix and everyone in front of me was getting Turtles tix.
|
Looks like TMNT will end up doing about what the original Turtles movie did opening weekend, at ~$25 Million. We'll see if it can match the original's $135 Million total run though.

Oh god no. TMNT is actually doing well? Oh brother.
|
The commercials for Hills Have Eyes 2 reminded me of that horrible movie The Cave for some reason.

incredible! |
I hope 300 will make it past $200 million, it looks to have a good chance to do so.
|
Nice numbers still for 300.

The original also had a small budget of 13.5 million. |
Looks like 300 will end up about $100 million shy of their "expected" number. :p
Nice numbers for Ninja Turtles, glad to see one of my childhood favorites resurrected for a new generation. |

incredible! Yup, and in honor of everyone on the board that has been bad mouthing without seeing it, I went again today!! I laughed even harder this time. I actually expected that to be what its opening weekend would be! :) |
It's opening will be on par with the first remake, which was about $15 million. But I think this one will have a huge drop, considering it's getting worse reviews than TCM: The Beginning. |

Add in the fact that you are right, it'll have a huge drop off next weekend, and i'd say "The Hills Have Eyes" franchise will probably stop right here. Might make 20-25 million total.
In its only defense, having 5 other new releases open probably didn't help. Neither did 300, which is still the main R-rated draw right now. |
That's good news for HD-DVD. :horse: fitprod |
