The delightful art of a bad wig

To me, few things in a movie can be as distracting (and amusing) as a bad wig. Whether poorly chosen for someone's head or face, coiffed into an unintentionally goofy style, or just glaringly fake, a big ol' head of hair that doesn't belong is often more memorable than the movie it is found in.

Watching Conan the Barbarian tonight for the first time, James Earl Jones' lovely Cher-esque mop had me laughing for the entire movie -- although the ripe '80s cheese of everything else didn't help!

His facial expression seems to say it all...

There are clearly hundreds, if not thousands of other examples out there, and I'd love to see what sort of gallery we could assemble.

Ben Kingsley in Bloodrayne looked really bad (the one Meatloaf wears is worse, it looks like they put it on him half assed and said "Action"

Kevin Spacey in Edison.

I thought the wig would be referenced in the movie as a joke or something, but when the movie ended without any mention of it I realized they honestly tried to pass it off as his real hair.

Joe Pesci has had a couple (JFK, Jimmy Hollywood), but they were intentionally bad so they don't count.

You know, I've seen plenty of candids of him. He doesn't have a wig, just terrible haircuts.

I can't find a pic of it but several of the beards in Gettysburg, especially Tom Berenger's, were simply laughable.

Not even in the credits where it says "Mandy Patinkin"? Weird.

A discussion of big wigs cannot be had without mention of Double Indeminty

Jackie Chan's Armor of The Gods had some monks that had pretty bad wigs.
