I had actually read something where they wanted to recast someone new for the cameo since Cavill likely isn’t returning. Kinda pointless for him to cameo and have that be his last appearance.

It's logistically feasible Cavill could do 1-2 days of work.

That’s because Marvel set up cameos to actually mean something. The cameos in their films actually led to something. Why do we care about Cavill showing up in this film if he’s likely going to be gone afterwards? It doesn’t make sense and seems pointless.

It doesn't matter if it has meaning or not. The question posed was "can he fulfill his contractual obligations with a cameo?" and the answer is very likely yes.

RDJ's appearance in Incredible Hulk was not a part of his film commitments in his contract. Neither was Chris Evans' appearance in Thor: The Dark World. For contracts like Samuel L. Jackson, etc, cameo's were part of the deal, because really that's all the majority of his appearances were. The main players never got a film deducted from their commitments because they agreed to do a cameo, at least not that I can recall.

Obviously, but if the actor playing Superman is changing why would you want to bring back the actor who’s on his way out in for a cameo? If anything replace him immediately and use the new person or just scrap the cameo until the new actor is cast. It’s dumb to continue on with someone on their way out as most people seeing it would probably expect them to interact further at some point in a future film.

I'm with Kal-el. If it's Justice League Supes, by all means, bring it. What's the harm? Fans get some fan service and we get to see at least one film where Superman isn't brooding and or trying to kill other members of the JL. Plus DC/WB gets to keep Superman "alive" and marketable until they do come up with something if Cavill is indeed gone.

I mean the biggest complaint of the DCEU is that they haven't been "fun." This cameo could be fun, so fucking roll with it.

If the rumor is true and being that this is Shazam and not the typical dark DCEU movies, I think a potential appearance by Cavill will be more tongue and cheek.
