of course I know what a red band trailer is, and I can handle language and violence at work since I view it wearing headphones. Nudity is a whole other issue.

Go find where the nudity is in the red band trailers for Tropic Thunder, Pineapple Express, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I Love You Man, Observe and Report, 30 Days of Night, Shoot em Up, Superbad and Rambo.

this! red band means anything they can show in an R rated movie can be in there. choke red band had tons of nudity as did crank 2. if you clicked it at work it's your own fault (not you stingermck, just quoting your post for truth).

Wow! That was simply awful! I was hoping it'd have a cheesy-but-fun DTV vibe but that was absolute crap!

I hope they didn't bother to make that into a feature length fan film.

All I have to say is that...it's a Red Band Trailer. That kinda gives you an idea of what may pop up that would flag it as such. if it was a Picture of a Nude girl..I'd post a NSFW and put it in a spoiler tag. Much like I did for the Godfather Part I vs. Part II thread with that pic of Appolonia in Part I. It's a red band trailer...pretty obvious.

lol, that trailer was so ridiculous, right down to the hip hop soundtrack. The "Commander" sounded like he talked through Stephen Hawking's voice box. It's a shame they had to take those girls away from filming Girls Gone Wild videos to be in that ...

I disagree, DrRingDing. Sure the new movie has taken liberties with the animated series (Cobra Commander and Zartan come to mind) but it seems like it'll have the cheesy fun attitude of the show.

That "trailer" looks like the over-serious sack of crap the movie would be if most fans insisting it has to be super serious had their way. It'd be a unentertaining wreck that has a bug up its ass (which apparently has own up its ass as well).

I'll take Sommers' version (despite some gripes I have with it) over that train wreck any day of the week.

Of course this argument is moot since we're simply comparing trailers and not actual feature films.

Exactly. Which is why I'm cool with what Sommers says (and the Superbowl teaser shows) he's aiming for. He wants a fun old school Bond (albeit with CGI tinkering) feel and that's just perfect. What I don't want to see is the film taking itself far too seriously, like the posters and that fan made trailer.

I mean seriously...I think they're improving GI JOE. I mean, a US military squadron (or whatever) shooting lasers? It was a show about many many bearded men and others duking it out for a Terrorist leader that was a pussy at heart vs the Joes. Yeah, I think Sommers is doing better than the cartoon did. It's an action figure movie dude, it could've been improved and looks like it has.

Even growing up I thought cartoon was a pussy version of Joe, compared to the comic, which was pretty hard for the time.
