films derivative of "hard day's night"
 

I am looking to find more films which are derivative of "A Hard Day's Night" in either plot structure or theme, regardless of quality.

Essentially a film that takes a few people who are key of a style and/or fictional cultural movement and says "here we are, this is who we are and what we do" - they do not have to be entertainers, per se.

I always saw the Monkeys, and "Head" itself, as being more derivative of "Help" myself.

Not what you're looking for, but it's interesting that TCM is running a marathon of early rock & roll movies tomorrow. I'd especially like to call your attention to It's Trad, Dad! at 3:30. It shares quite a bit of the style of A Hard Day's Night & must've been a big factor in getting Richard Lester that directing job. Cool scenes with Gene Vincent & The Temperance Seven among others...

It's funny this should get brought up because I've always thought of the Beatles movies as being derivative of the Marx Brothers movies.

IMO, far outdoes Hard Days Night as we ll as HELP

It actually has meaning to it and is pretty deep in its messages thru symbolism, etc. and stuuf going on in the world and the 60s at that time. Jack Nicholson was a co-write, btw.

I love it and wish it would get reissued with the extra 10 - 15 minutes of footage and OAR.
