Well, I heard that the Family Guy manatees did one of the rewrites, so let the hilarity begin!

Awesome thread.
I'm rusty on my pop-culture. Given the datedness of things in the first two I'd wager a Snakes on the Plane reference seeing as they might be up to speed that the fad crashed landed (hard) once the actual movie came out. Maybe Runaway Bride? Probably some reality show crap as well or Lost or CSI stuff.

Donkey: Come on Shrek, reach a little further!
Shrek: I can't.
Donkey: Yes you can. Remember the time you thought you were Stretch Armstong?
(cut to scene of shrek with 50 foot long arms and legs).

How the hell is Shrek going to reference Myspace account if the internet, let alone computers, haven't been invented yet in that universe?

I still found Shrek 1 and 2 pretty hilarious when I last saw them recently. There's great fun stuff in there that isn't all pop culture references.
