I loved that. Personally everytime a pet makes it, it just makes me groan.

Friday the 13th Part 2

Spoiler:
Although I'm a bit confused as to what happens here. The fluffy white dog is shown dead, but then shows up again in another scene?

Animals are one of the many things that are on the dinner table in this 80's style horror/gore/zombie/comedy.(little fluffy makes for a finger licking good time)

As a blind buy I would give it a 7 out of 10 if you like the 80's style horror/comedy.

EDIT...I forgot that you started this thread...my advice stay away!

Yeah, CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST is the king of movies showing real animal deaths. But the Grindhouse SE DVD does have a "animal killing free" version too.

John Waters had gone on record saying that they cooked and ate the chicken afterwards at least.

The death of the wolf bothered me much more than the horse.

The bit where the astronaut killed and ate a raw rattlesnake in Capricorn One was rather disturbing the first time I saw it.

The water buffalo being slashed in apocalypse now was kind of shocking, but they don't really show it for long.

Most disney movies have animal deaths.

The American Humane Society keeps a database with info about the animal work in the films. They rate the films either acceptable, or not, or believed to be.

http://www.ahafilm.info/movies/movie...phtml?letter=A

I had this same question when I first learned about Death and Mondo films. It's a shame some films use genuine animal killings. A few to steer clear from:

The Man Behind The Red Sun
Spoiler:
I haven't seen it but supposedly a cat is thrown into a pit of starved rats and eaten.

Faces of Death series(some may not have been done for the cameras, as their is slaughterhouse footage and other ways animals are killed for goods)

Pretty much anything by Jacopetti and Prosperti and the other 'Mondo' film makers. Tons of slaughterings in Africa, some utterly pointless just done for the cameras. You may also want to check out cuts the BBFC may have made to the film, over in the UK. They cut pretty much all animal footage even if it's fake in some cases, probably your best bet.

Hope that helps!

See Slither if you have a sense of humor. If you can't find the humor used in the offscreen animal deaths. Then this film is a lost cause for you. But one scene which
Spoiler:
shows a field of dead dogs and other animals leads into the biggest laugh I received from the film, when it cut to the police station map with a specific image used to show the attack areas so far. Also the mutant giant deer attack later in the film also is hilarious. I don't see how anyone could get upset at the material in the film, since it's so absurd and not serious. Also since no animals are killed for real in the film, I don't see how people could find it offensive and upsetting.
. It's quite harmless and all done in good outrageous fun in my opinion.

Butterfly Effect has the dog buying it in one scene. Totally pissed off my exgirlfriend over the whole movie. It's not like the filmmakers killed the real dog (fx dogs are a wonderful thing) so I didn't see this as a reason to hate the movie.

Return of the Jedi kills that one Ewok & causes another to cry.

I forgot about those ones. The Italian cut of AFRICA ADDIO is especially one to steer away from if you don't like to see animal deaths. It has some pretty rough scenes.

Yup. Poor elephant and hippo.
Of course, a human (Supposedly) gets executed later on in the movie, but we all flinch and gasp at the animal death. Strange.

And of all the "cannibal" movies that I've seen, the croc death (Well, torture sequence, to be exact since it doesn't exactly die instantly) in Jungle Holocaust is really sick to watch.

The Italians don't fuck around.
