Anybody seen 'Nekromantik'?
Anybody seen it or it's sequal? I've only ever read of it....sounds completely messed up. The guy who made it doesn't appear to have much of a filmography besides them, lol.
Just pickin' your brains. That is all. |

I own both Nekromantik movies... and recently picked up Schramm. They are definitely not movies to gather the family around and watch :D

About 12 years ago. Don't remember much.

Yeah I've seen them both and have also seen Der Todesking. Both Nekromantik movies are pretty heavy going, although the second one is much lighter (don't get me wrong it's still pretty twisted, just closer to mainstream twisted than the first).
They're both pretty well made, some interesting camera work, and to be honest with you they're also reasonably clever looks at people who's ideals wander down a different road. Now Der Todesking, that's much more mainstream. It's still pretty gory in a Cannibal Ferox kind of way and can be kind of hard to follow but it's pretty smart. Some very original ideas for the time. |
my VHS copy of the film had some bonus amateur Euro-sleaze beastiality scenes tacked on.
:yack: |
yep. watched it at work about 10 years ago.

:yack: You lucky bastard. I've seen both Nekromantiks, Der Todesking and Schramm (first saw them all years ago on grey market videos). I've always liked the soundtrack for the first one, considering everything was so low budget. The sequel is way too long in my opinion though, I had a hard time getting through it. The book about Buttegereit's films, "Sex Murder Art", is an interesting read. |
Are these available on DVD?

I picked up both Nekromantic films the day they were released on DVD, based solely on reputation. The first one actually held up. The second I found to be somewhat boring. But I love the first and have showed it to several friends to gauge their interest in offbeat cinema. :)
