EL TOPO in NYC 12/13/06 for one-week engagement

From NY TIMES re EL TOPO:

The film is screening digitally, Dec. 13 to Dec. 19. After its New York rerelease, it will travel the country with Mr. Jodorowsky's 1973 offering, "The Holy Mountain"; a DVD release of the two titles, along with a third, "Fando y Lis," is promised. (IFC Center, 323 Avenue of the Americas, at Third Street, Greenwich Village, 212-924-7771.)

(The IFC Center is the former Waverly Theater, where El Topo was a long-running midnight movie staple.)

Hmmm. I wouldn't mind the trek up to New York but if this is coming to Philadelphia, I'd rather see it there.

Thanks for the news. I guess no Santa Sangre on DVD yet, huh?

Cool, I hope they play somewhere near me. And a DVD release would be great (FANDO Y LIS is already on DVD though). And yeah, where's SANTA SANGRE?

I mentioned this once before in another thread, but I saw HiDef presentation of the film: Midnight Movies: From the Margin to the Mainstream and the film segments from El Topo and Holy Mountain were eye startling.
