Quick holiday movie trivia question

Hey all,

Wondering if anyone can tell me what the original versions of Miracle on 34th Street, It's a Wonderful Life and White Christmas have in common. Looking for an answer other than "they're all Christmas movies."

It's for a trivia contest at work and the closest thing I can come up with is that they were all nominated for Oscars.

Any thoughts?

They're all missing substantial black characters. Fight the power!

They are all pro-communist movies.

They were all flops upon first release. I'm guessing. I know It's a Wonderful Life was a flop.

It's a Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th Street were. White Christmas was the highest grossing film of 1954.

Regrettably, none starred Charles Bronson.

None of them were released during December. (or November)

These are all guesses, but I'm going under the assumption that the answer is tricky because the link between the three is something un-Christmasy, or unlikely considering the subject of the film:

1. They were all filmed in the summer
2. None of them feature real snow
3. They were all writen and/or directed by Jews (was Capra Jewish?)

At first I thought that must be the answer, but alas, It's a Wonderful Life was premiered in Dec and released in Jan

Pretty sure Capra was catholic.

I just scanned through IMDB, and that's about all I could come up with, too.

The documentary on the new 34th Street DVD says it was released in June, and played all the way through the next January. That's what I call successful, even for that time period.

It looks like the OP has a blog. Maybe we could contact him through that and see if he ever go an answer?

How did Walt Disney get banned with only 1 post? Or was it an Alias account?
