Great numbers for Casino Royale (hoping for the best with this one.) and Happy Feet, they continue to be neck and neck. Deja Vu started on the lower end but will probably gain momentum as the weekend actually starts.

The D got what I thought the D'd get. Sadly that happens with movies that are focused on a specific crowd (and as a fan, I have to admit.. the trailers weren't... good.)

Regardless of how good the D movie is (I've read good reviews)...I thought the trailer was very unfunny, and it could easily drive people away.

Looks like the Fountain ain't doing too well either.

I did. It was a good movie but Jack Black was a bit too hammed up for it.

The Casino Royale floppage continues. At this rate it'll probably only barely become the highest grossing James Bond movie ever. What a dud.

No joke Shame to see such a great movie flop so spectacularly. An undeniable dud.

i admit to being totally wrong. i thought this movie would bomb. the fact that it is a pretty good flick and is getting good reviews helps. plus the idea of bond before he was a super spy and getting his start was a good idea. specially for a series of films that have done very little with the character or story of any interest since ihmss. the poker scene went on way too long as did the chases and fights which were just typical bond. vesper working for the treasury is dumb bond. and some cop outs at the end. but craig may not look like bond but he makes bond dangerous which is a very good thing.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. I'm fairly certain Joe Molotov was...

It's not a flop though. It's made over $70 mil in its domestic run already. It is also already the 5th highest gross for a Bond film and it's only in its second weekend. It's been number 1 in all other markets but the US and raking in record numbers in some places, like England.

I've loathed the idiotic cult of unfunny that is Jack Black/Tenacious D for years, glad to see the movie is failing so spectacularly. Kudos to Casino Royale -- it's earned every freakin' penny it's received so far, and then some. Haven't seen Happy Feet yet... maybe tonight. I'm going to Washington tomorrow. Who wants cake?

CASINO ROYALE may not be a movie the whole family may like past Bond movies, but it's good. And if it's considered a flop blame can't be put on the actor.

Kinda surprised at Tenacious D's gross, but The Fountain's doesn't surprise me. Darren Aranofsky may be one talented filmmaker, but his films aren't the type of films people wanna see.
