Please words like amazing, freakin awesome do not apply this "so called movie".

It hurts my eyes and my heart to see my beloved Transformers look this bad on the small-screen let alone on the big-screen.

Thanks for the

The Transformers have been through many incarnations: G2, Beast Wars, Armada, etc. These aren't the G1 transformers. If they were, it's be ridiculous, as they would be proportionally impossible (soundwave, anyone?) and completely unrealistic.

Considering you haven't seen the movie, only short snippets, I'll give your opinion all the credit it deserves

I'm a HUGE Transformers fan. I still own most of my old toys. I wear the tee shirts. I have two different versions of the animated movie on DVD and 3 copies on VHS. I have a very fond place in my heart for this franchise and I always thought that it was probably a little sad that I couldn't let it go. Then this movie was announced and the real "fans" started coming out of the woodwork.

Have you gone back and watched the old show? I don't mean through the rosey-lensed glasses of nostalgia, I mean sat down and watched it. The '86 movie (as much as I love it) was cheasy, but it's goddamned shakespearean compared to the cartoon.

If you don't think so, rock on, man. Good on ya. This new movie isn't going to undo that. If you don't like the modern interpretation, that's totally and completely your perogative. But don't shit on the rest of us who think it looks cool and are waiting until we actually see it to pass judgement, huh?

Of all the haters out there, the only things I've been hearing so far are that the robots don't look like the used to...

Take a look at any random issue of X-Men. Their outer appearance bears only passing resemblences to most of the characters in the movie, but the spirit of the characters are there and it's one of the better comics-to-movie franchises. Do you call it XINO or something equally retarded because Wolverine doesn't wear a mask? So Optimus is a Long Nose with flame highlights instead of an Overcab. So Bumblebee isn't a VW and he may actually have some characterization... Come on... this is Optimus, Iron Hide, Ratchet, Jazz and Bumblebee fighting Decepticons. As long as the movie is enjoyable based on this premise (and I'm hoping it will be) what's to complain about?

I think that even if this movie rocks Harry Potter will crush it a week later.

Yeah, that's a line straight out of Will Smith's mouth in ID4...another summer blockbuster that has stood the test of time.

This is totally ID4 revisited, but it looks great for the action/blow shit up factor.

I think the plane is Megatron.

No, the plane he is referring to is Starscream, who transforms into an F22 Raptor. Megatron transforms into a Cybertronian jet, which isn't seen in the theatrical trailer but can be seen briefly in the most recent TV spot.

Wow, I just geeked out!

Anyone bought any of the cheesy Transformer toys from Burger King? The toys are $1 each if you don't want to buy the Kid's meal. There are 8 toys in the lineup.

I thought traditionally Megatron turned into a gun.

Yeah, but guns are bad. Plus a giant robot turning into a regular-sized gun would just be ridiculous and would totally ruin the believability of the entire film.

I'm definitely impressed with the clips of Starscream. That fight between Prime and Bonecrusher should be pretty bad ass.
