thats not an article thats a link to an online encyclopedia.
Just curious how many of you have actually read 300? The frank miller comic, not the "article"?

Well I study history and I can tell you that I would rather read the "article" than some comic book.
The comic does have me intrigued however, (apparently a lot of other people too as it is up to #44 in books on Amazon) if Frank Miller concentrates on battle tactics of the age and tries to tell an entertaining story while trying to stick to something semi-realistic (The dress of the Persian army is nearly spot on from mosaics from the era) then yes I will attempt to check out 300. However if you really want to learn about the battle and it's ramifications on Greek culture (if not the world) then I suggest reading Herodotus: The Histories.
Regardless I have been waiting for a modern movie about Thermopylae for a long time and this looks like it is going to kick some major ass!

I know I'm late to the game but I finally saw the trailer for this when I saw "The Departed". I had been ignoring this thread and the special videos on apple's trailer site.
One word. Wow.

Loved Sin City and thought this sounded pretty cool, but the trailer on Apple.com makes it look like a big streaming pile of shit. I kept waiting for a voice to scream out "Mortal Combat!!!"

I dunno. The visuals are great, but everytime Gerard Butler says a line, I end up laughing. I'm guessing that's not the intent?

I give this trailer a resounding "FUCK YEAH!"
Good stuff, I'm pumped about this movie and I can't wait to see it; this is my most anticipated movie of the year.

This looks great. No angst ridden protagonists, no weird camera angles, no prostitutes with hearts of gold(not sure about that based on the trailer). Looks entertaining.
