That's because they removed all the dialogue.

Exactly - I think the second tralior makes it look pretty good. Visually it looks great. We'll have to see if the story changes too much from the book

I saw a new trailer for Eragon. Its a mix. There is no dialogue as such just Jeremy Irons doing a voice over - which isn't too bad actually IMO and further elaboration on the action from the other trailer.

New Eragon

My wife read the book and hated it (she loves fantasy books): according to her this book is a collection of stolen ideas.

The trailer looks mediocre. I may or may not see it, depending on the reviews.

I think the reviews will probably be mixed as they are written mainly by middle aged men. Then the movie will go on to be a massive christmas hit - Generally I think its the masses who decide with a film like Eragon

this movie is going to stink it up

I seriously doubt it. - it has so much going for it - great cast and CGI and a decent source book.

It also has a big fan base which seems to me will ensure its success

My prediction is 24 mill at the B.O.

Opening weekend or total B.O.?

Total.

This movie has its audience, but it isn't going to be as vast as LotRs or Narnias.

That said, I have absolutely no interest in seeing this. I haven't read the book, but the movie just looks painfully derivative and not terribly interesting. Not Uwe Boll-bad, just not something I'd pay to see.

I just don't see the film doing well, because both LOTR and Narnia had Christian undertones which already established a built-in audience in addition to the millions who have read the books before in the past five decades.

The film has neither.
