I absolutely disliked the first one. Decent popcorn flick, but did it live up to my expectations of a FF flick or at the very least a comic film, no. There was so much more that they could have done plotwise, characterwise, just overall. It was a big let down, but at least this one sounds like it is shaping up better than the first. Still I reserve judgement until the film comes out. The Silver Surfer being included in the movie sounds great, but just after the abhoration that was the first, I'm fearful the screw it all up.

I kind of like that idea. His best character was a bad guy (Riddick on Pitch Black).

OMG, you guys who want a California surfer dude to play Silver Surfer are idiots in my opinion. Why not just get Keanu Reeves to play him then???

Personally, while I like Kirby and Moebius, I prefer John Buscema's Surfer, from when the Surfer had his own comic.

Now, as far as the next FF movie is concerned, if they pull a PotC2 or Matix2 cliff-hanger non-ending, I am going to freaking pull my hair out and running screaming from a theater, never to set foot in one again.

I despise this in movies (LOTR being the only exception.) It seems to be imitating a similar and equally dispicable trend with just about every hit TV series' season ending shenanagins.

OK, while they did eventually do some cool things with the SS, his creation was the ultimate in 60's Marvel cheese...a f'in surfboard?!?!?!?

I like comic book movies, so I'm looking forward to this one either way.

Won't the Silver Surfer most likely be a CGI character? Galactus too, for that matter.

Bring it on. I had lots of fun with the 1st on, great setup for the next 2 movies.

Silver Surfer sounds awesome, it will be like watching a FF comic on the big screen.

Howza 'bout:

Galactus= voiced by Kelsey Grammer

I thought he did a great job with Beast in X3. Between his cultured voice, way with words, and his overall look I could see a Galactus based on him and voiced by him. Grammer as Galactus with his voice booming through the Cosmos.

Now, from what little Silver Surfer I read in comics and based on the vibe I got from him in that awesome short lived Cartoon series a few years back, he always seemed sad or melancholy, but highly intelligent. I believe he came from an advanced planet of scientists right? Anyway, having said that...and mind you, I'm not trying to turn this into a "FRASIER" ep. ... but David Hyde Pierce did good job of voicing Abe Sapien in "HELLBOY". Abe's voice was gentle, intelligent, and yet you could hear the bit of sadness in his sound. So you get some actor to play the physical SS or use CGI and have DHP voice him.

Silver Surfer = David Hyde Pierce

Galactus: Silver Surfer, prepare Earth for my coming!
Silver Surfer: Oh, I don't know Galactus, it all seems so blase.
Galactus: Oh, come off it, Silver. You agreed. I hook you up with Golden Daphne and you help me eat worlds.
Silver Surfer: Fine, but let's make it quick. I have an opera to attend tonight on Alpha Centauri.

Besides, we all know the voice of Galactus should be the guy who does the voice of the giant octopus guy from the Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver games.

I really liked the first movies so I'm happy, plus a 2007 release? Breaking the growing trend of having to wait 3 years for a sequel. While I understand you don't want to rush the creative process, it's nice to not have to wait.

Sometimes it's not worth the wait, cough, cough, X-Men: The Last Stand.

Need your help .. reference Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Hey guys I need your help. This week is the last week for the Free F4 tickets and we want to use the 2 we have but cannot locate a sitter for the kids.

What I need to know about the movie is it ok for kids?? My kids are 7 & 5 and they have seen the first one and loved it.

How is this compared to the first one (language, adult situations, scary parts etc). FYI the only part we skipped over on F4 1 was when Dr. Doom popped out at the end to grab the guy (and he did it one other time earlier in the movie) as thats the type of things that my kids don't like.

Thanks in advance.

Greg

I would say you should check some of the "family friendly" review sites to get a complete rundown of what to expect. Granted, some of the review might be considered a spoiler then, but....

Here's one for FF2: http://www.commonsensemedia.org/movi...se-Silver.html

It depends on where you would stand on the scale of being overly cautious. I would have no problem taking a 5-year old to it, although some parts might be a bit scary (near the end).

I mean, it's a PG movie. The 7-year old should be fine with it, certainly.
