The Chronicles of Riddick - Did you get it?

Upon watching the movie, I keep telling myself, wtf is he saying. I was totally lost. Than after the movie, I read a brief summary of it and sort of got the understanding of it now. It seems as if a first half of the movie was missing. But I think the ending wasn't so bad.

elperdido 08-16-06 12:33 PM

nope, I did not get it. Maybe it is because I slept for 1/2 of the movie...... :hscratch:

Ketamine 08-16-06 12:50 PM

I bought it fairly cheap at BB. Not sure if I will get it in HD though.

Hmmm, I thought it was fairly straight forward.

I am going to assume that you watched Pitch Black before you watched the Chronicles of Riddick, if you did, then I do not see how you could not understand what Riddick was talking about. However, if you did not see Pitch Black first, then I could see where you might be a little lost at what Riddick was talking about. That said, Chronicles of Riddick is a fun movie to watch, I have seen it about 5 times now and think it is better than Pitch Black.

I thought it was fairly straight forward too, but I'd seen Pitch Black a couple of times before going to see Riddick in the theater.

Yea, I guess I understand if you haven't seen Pitch Black that you might not understand what is fully going on in Chronicles.

whoa, that means a 'prequel' is already out there for you. Pick-up pitch black when you get a chance.

DVDsAreMyLIFE 08-16-06 02:44 PM

Definitely the better of the two.

Nesbit 08-16-06 02:45 PM

Pitch Black was a much better movie but I don't remember there being a great need to see it to understand Riddick.

DVDsAreMyLIFE 08-16-06 02:55 PM

Well some of the crap he talks about in the beginning, then Jack and the priest stuff, kinda helps to see Pitch Black.

Pitch Black: Dark Fury (animated) also bridged the gap from Pitch Black to the Chronicles of Riddick.

Supermallet 08-16-06 03:03 PM

I had no problems understanding it and I bought it on DVD and then sold it for HD DVD.

Blitz6Speed 08-16-06 03:12 PM

I watched it without seeing pitch black and had 0 problems with it. I then watched pitch black later and thought it was a horrible film. Riddick rocks it. Its not hard to realise what they're talking about at the begining as the movie progresses.

Prolly the first person I ever heard say that.

Ditto. Pitch Black blows Chronicles out of the water, but they are both good flicks.

I got it for Christmas the year it came out, I thoroughly enjoyed it...nothing special but it entertained...

There's a new "trilogy" set out that contains both movies and this animated show. It's usually under $20.

You know that african dude with the daughter and wife, what was his role in that movie? For some reason when he was speaking I was like deaf and didn't remember a thing he said.
