What film was this scene from?

I'm not sure it was from a science fiction or horror film, but in the scene, some guy gets sliced with a sword (or something) semi-vertically from the top of his head to about his shoulder area. He stands there a while afterwards. And then the part that was cut slides off. A clean cut.

Anyone?

Sounds like "Equilibrium" with Taye Diggs and Christian Bale. I could be wrong, though. It has happened before...

Thanks for the quick response. No, not the film I was thinking of.

Johnny Moronic?

Edit: I mean Johnny Mnemonic

IDrinkMolson 08-06-06 02:58 PM

It happened in AVP (Alien vs. Predator) too.

Underworld?

It's probably Johnny Mnemonic, with the laser whip. That was the best part of the movie, or at least I thought so when I was 12.

The following thread may help:

Movies that feature the "delayed body slice" effect

In 13 Ghosts, the guy gets cut longways by a glass wall.

JPRaup 08-06-06 03:50 PM

in Resident Evil, he gets sliced by the lasers

 Forsooth man! It's a monomolecular filament. They only made it red for Joe Sixpack. The worst movie I actually like.

I'm sure Blade 2 got mentioned in the other thread, but, that's right, I'm mentioning it.

Cube?

glassdragon 08-06-06 10:13 PM

didn't this also happen in the first or second underworld?

raven56706 08-07-06 06:57 AM

was it any of the blade movies?

davidh777 08-07-06 12:53 PM

Like others, I would have guessed the first Resident Evil or the first Underworld
