Rufus Sewell is severly typecasted
In "A Knight's Tale" he (the villain) loses the girl to the hero in a period piece.
In "Tristan & Isolde" he (the villain) loses the girl to the hero in a period piece. In "The Illusionist" he (the villain) loses the girl to the hero in a period piece. Just thought I'd point that out. |
Tack on Legend of Zorro with that as well.
However, he's able to land a pretty sweet catch in Dark City. Jennifer ... something. ;) |
I agree he is typecast. I believe that's the word you were looking for. -wink-

Blame it on his wandering eye.
|
Um, although he loses the girl, he wasn't the villain of Tristan & Isolde. Isolde's father was the villain in that film.
|
If you like Rufus and want to see him in a different kind of role, I'd recommend Dangerous Beauty and also Cold Comfort Farm, if you haven't already seen those. They are both very good movies.

Dark City

I second Dark City (where is the director's cut?) and also second Dangerous Beauty and Cold Comfort Farm. He is excellent in all three.

I've liked Rufus in pretty much everything he's been in. But I agree he's getting typecast into villianous roles.
Thanks for the recommendations Cellar Door. I'll check those out. Beckinsale in Cold Comfort Farm is a bonus. |
