If one follows movies, one should know there was a good chance for a cliffhanger. Same with BttF and ESB. I thought all had great endings, even if they were unresolved.

That was my only problem with POTC2. It would have been nice if it would have been a complete story, while the 3rd one was another complete story. Maybe similar to Indiana Jones.
I find it closer to ESB than Matrix Reloaded.
