Guess POTC 2 weekend gross

I'm going with $123.8million for Friday-Sunday (which includes the midnight shows tonight)

Ginwen 07-06-06 10:33 PM

I'm guessing 94 million. It will still do decently since people (not including me) loved the first, but the crap reviews will keep some of the on-the-fence people away.

Also, it's 2.5 hours so fewer showings.

I still think that guy's going to win his bet, though :)

GoldenJCJ 07-06-06 10:37 PM

I'll say 97 pieces of eight....I mean million

The Antipodean 07-06-06 10:43 PM

101 meeeelion dollars

Autotelik 07-06-06 11:10 PM

I think maybe 75 million dollars. I know the first one was well-received, and there's much anticipation for this one, but I think that after MI3, X3, Da Vinci Code, Cars, Supes, people might want to wait a bit before catching this. Plenty of people will see it, but not all on the first weekend.

TomOpus 07-06-06 11:37 PM

I'll guess $112 million

rabbit77 07-07-06 12:30 AM

One dollar, Bob!

Terrell 07-07-06 12:36 AM

104 million dollars.

I said in the other film, and I believe it to be true. This film is critic proof. Critical reception won't have an effect on this film. Besides, I believe the vast majority of the movie audiences sees what they want to see, rather than basing their viewing decisions on what critics have to say. Someone made a good point in another forum that every review has an agenda of some sort. Ignore them all. After all, only your opinion matters.

Artman 07-07-06 01:35 AM

I guess I'll for for an even 100 million since it isn't taken yet...

dcprules 07-07-06 01:35 AM

I'm thinking this will crack 100 million this weekend. I just came from seeing Cars (great movie, by the way) a few hours ago, and there were nine showings of Pirates tonight (from 11:59-12:08) and they were all sold out. I was shocked! This thing could open huge.

Flynn 07-07-06 03:27 AM

117.5 Mil

RoboDad 07-07-06 04:21 AM

$110 million.

Matthew Chmiel 07-07-06 04:31 AM

$98,952,000

While it has one of the widest release openings ever, the film does have a significantly long running time which means less screenings per day despite the 4000+ locations it'll be playing in.

Example: The closest theater to me has it on five screens with 20 showings per day. X3 was on the same number of screens and had 26 showings per day.

Jackskeleton 07-07-06 05:29 AM

108

raven56706 07-07-06 07:03 AM

78 million... i dont see it breaking the 100 million mark... the reviews will kill it

Mr. Cinema 07-07-06 07:25 AM

I don't think this will beat Spider-Man's 3 day total of $114 million and change. It'll be near the $100 million area though.

GradVT06 07-07-06 07:35 AM

106 million

Maxflier 07-07-06 08:18 AM

87 million

zekeburger1979 07-07-06 08:19 AM
