That sucks. I was hoping to see the Spider-Man 3 teaser trailer in theaters with the IMAX 3D version of Superman Returns but they only showed 3D animated trailers like Happy Feet and The Ant Bully. Guess I have to watch Superman again, not a bad idea. This time I ain't payin' no $11.50 for it either. (Well it would have been 11.50 without my buddy Krypto from Best Buy via Circuit City- though the free ticket was worth only 10.50 and they made me pay $1 extra.)
Why couldn't they show any "regular" trailers in there? I saw Chicken Little 3D (different theater) and I forget what trailer it had. Oh well, next time I will watch the 2D Superman Returns for $3.50 at another theater. Not just for Spider-Man of course, I thought SR was awesome!

I (and everyone in the theater apparently) assumed that the Spider-Man trailer would be shown with the 3D version. Anyone know why it wasn't? Besides, most of the other threads were just reviews of the movie. I don't need a review of the movie. It was great, and I know the movie is the same 2D or 3D... but 3D is cooler!

At the 10 p.m. Tuesday night showing of SR, my theater, one of the nicer ones in NE Atlanta (Discover Mills) did not show the Spidey 3 teaser. I was glad to have seen it online, but still feel a little cheated, but I'm sure I'll see it soon enough.

I guess my main point was they didn't show ANY "normal" trailers in the IMAX version, as if we were only capable of watching things that had some sort of 3D element in them. Why does a movie about a dancing penguin need to be in 3D?

Locally, they showed the Spidey trailer before Supes in a regular theater.
I've never heard so much clapping and cheering for a teaser trailer before.

So at the IMAX theater where you saw Superman Returns, they showed "coming attractions" for movies that would be playing at that same IMAX theater?

Since there are several new family films being released in IMAX 3D versions this year (THE ANT BULLY, HAPPY FEET, OPEN SEASON, POLAR EXPRESS re-issue) it would make sense that they'd show trailers for those at the IMAX theater.
Seems like all the CGI movies are 3-D now, in either IMAX or Digital 3-D.. MONSTER HOUSE next month, MEET THE ROBINSONS, etc. Even NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS will re re-issued in Digital 3-D this fall!
