Identify this (slightly weird) movie

I've been wondering about this flick for a while now. All I remember is seeing it on TV in the late 80s (maybe VHS).

There were some normal folks in a weird place -- lots of crystals and things. Other characters were walking around with butterfly wings or something like that. Then some people were (being forced?) sliding down this slide into a wet pit where some giant round creature would keep opening it's mouth and swallowing them.

I haven't been able to find any pics or anything like that since -- doesn't even seem to match anything at www.badmovies.org . Any suggestions? I think it was probably an 80's film.

I've been stump'd! (a wild shot: was it At the Earth's Core? No butteryfly wings, but geodes and pterodactyl men. and orange juice drinking pig natives.)

Definitely not the last 2. I'll check about the first suggestion. Thanks.

No way! Although I cannot name this movie, I too remember it. I watched it about fifteen years ago at a friend's house. I thought I'd made it up. I think in this movie, a person had to slide down into the water, and put his arms out in order to get wings, or slide down and just accept the fate of being eaten. Trippy.

Well, I too don't know what it is but, after reading these descriptions, I just gotta see it!

(I'd almost think it was this http://www.bugaloos.com but for the fact that it's a TV show and you are looking for a movie.)

Quezacotl02's description sounds like the same one. Still no closer to a name though.
