Brenda Strong in Starship Troopers 1 & 2?
First of all, Starship Troopers is an excellent movie for what it is and that is more or less a comical homage to war and sci-fi movies. It doesn't try to be serious and I think was always intended to come off the way it did and I think it works great.
So has anyone who has seen the very bad DTV part 2 (Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation) made the connection that Brenda Strong (who plays the narrator I believe on Desperate Housewives) is in both movies playing different characters?
She is the captain of Denise Richards and Patrick Muldoon on the ship who dies in 1 and yet she is also in part 2 as another character who I believe gets possessed by a bug.
It didn't dawn on me until I watched part 1 again and then realized the few minutes I saw 2 that I recognized her.
Isn't that peculiar?

The movie really lacked that Verhoven touch and the one aspect that could have made the movie great (the bugs taking over people) was an idea that wasn't really used to its fullest.
But then if they had it would have been "The Thing" just set on some bug infested rock in space.
