7 A Few Good Men -
Spoiler:
"You want answers?" "I want the TRUTH" "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH." The best courtroom showdown in cinema history.

6 Casablanca -
Spoiler:
I'm not sure which to pick from this movie, I loved the "Play it again, Sam" scene as well as the final scene.

Spoiler:
The long night when he escapes. One of the most tense moments I recall, and I was convinced he hung himself and was completely taken by surprise at the actual escape.

4 Dr. Strangelove -
Spoiler:
"Hello Dmitri..." The President talking to the Russians was the funniest scene in this great movie IMO. The silence and reactions are beautiful and the whole War Room sequence is amazing.

Your list is pretty good, RockStrongo.

Pretty much on the money. Personally, I would promote your Empire Strikes Back scene within the top three, and I would demote your LOTR scene somewhere off to the next zipcode.

Great list though.

I don't know if I could ever narrow my favorite scenes down to 20. Much too many to name in general. Tho I know the final moments of City Lights would be in the Top 5 somewhere.

Ack. His smile/nail biting thing creeped me out. Plus the glaring continuity in the editing, with the flower down, then up, then down... it seems like something Chaplain would have caught... and rectified, judging by how anal everyone seems to claim he was.

This thread seemed tiresome at first and now seems maddening because it should have been “Your favorite BILLION scenes”. Thank you, OP, for reminding me of so much cool stuff.
