Who can name the Actors that started out as sleazeballs but become leading men?

Who can name the actors that started out as sleazeballs early in their film career, but later on become leading men?

Here are some that I can think of at the top of my head:
VIGGO MORTENSON
SAMUEL L. JACKSON
BILLY BOB THORNTON
DANIEL CRAIG

Jeff Goldblum was involved with the gang rape of a girl in the first Death Wish movie. Ain't much sleazier than that.

Or do you mean actors who were sleazeballs in their real lives, not as characters they played?

define "sleezeball" like bit actor's that went on to big parts, or those who kind of matured to more serious roles like tom hanks or jim carrey

Why would bit actors who went on to big parts or actors who matured into serious roles be considered sleazeballs?

This guy's question is confusing.

JIM CARREY was also petty criminal in one of the Clint Eastwood Dirty Harry movies.

I'm thinking mainly of actors who were consistently cast as sleazeball villain types in a bunch of movies, before becoming respectable likable leading men in their films....I'm actually not thinking of ones in one bit part such as Jim Carrey in one of those Dirty Harry films. I'm thinking more on the lines of film after film being typecast...

They may not be major leading men at the moment but:

William Sanderson-Played a much despised character in the controversial Fight For Your Life.

Eriq La Salle-Played a pimp in a Ruggero Deodato movie. Need I say more?

Kiefer Sutherland started out as a bad boy, had a brief period where he was an A-List leading man, got typecast as bad guys again, went straight-to-video for a while, then became a hero again with 24.

...and now we get to see him show his backside on a weekly basis on Big Love. I could do with out that, but I think he does a great job in Big Love.

I think the question is better phrased as:

"What actors, who started out by playing unlikeable sleazeball roles, were able to move beyond that role or roles to become respected leading men?"

Steven Seagal's very first movie was a leading role in an Andrew Davis film.

Val Kilmer's first movie was starring in Top Secret, and Kyle MacLachlan's was Dune.

Paul Giamatti's big break was playing "Pig Vomit" in Private Parts. He was pretty sleazy.

Billy Zane played one of Biff's goons in Back to the Future, then played a sleazeball in one of Hollywood's biggest films: Titanic. And then got the chance to play the lead as the Phantom. But has now since disappeared into obscurity.
