I'm sorta disappointed in the movies she's been choosing to do. I don't like any of the things she's done after Kill Bill. It just seems like she is headed downhill (she's not downhill yet i guess, but to me she is). I see her career disappearing in the next few years. And then Kill Bill 3 comeback in 12 years.
Uma's career is in continual fluctuation. Before Kill Bill, I would argue her Career had hit a low point, Kill Bill revived some of that, and then it started to drop a bit again. Of course, it's hard to pick a high point: She did Even Cowgirls get the Blues, countered that with Pulp Fiction, went on to do Gattaca and countered that with Batman and Robin. She then did The Avengers and countered with Sweet and Lowdown. She hit her stride with Kill Bill came out, but again, those were largely duds (Be Cool, Paycheck) and she was one of the few bright spots of The Producers. I see her continuing the streak of good/bad into the future. Don't think she'll fall completely off the map for a while yet.

My choice is Ben Kingsley, I enjoyed Slevin, but man the guy has been Class for Hire for the last few years.

Also, with The Matrix, Chocolat and Memento, I figured Carrie Anne-Moss would be doing better than she is.

Christian Slater is obvious. Hollow Man 2, haha.

Not to jump the gun, but Edward Norton needs to get on the ball and stop staring in five-minutes roles and characters whose faces we never see or everyone will forget his amazing performances in 25th Hour, American History x, and Fight Club. That cowboy movie looks kind of dumb but The Illousionist might be the good one.

Kurt Russell, no one is going to see Posiedon for him.

Matt Dillon would have made my list if he hadn't gotten lucky with Crash.

Richard Gere is running low, IMO.

Kinda unfair to lump in big TV stars who didn't make it big (sure, Duchovny was on Beethoven, but c'mon, I don't remember him having a big, non-X-files hit).

Jennifer Love Hewitt: she has her own tv show, i guess, but I thought she'd be bigger than she was. Those "I know what you did last summer" pretty much were built for her, right? I mean, I don't know if Garfield was a hit, but she was barely in that.

When I was younger, Judge Reinhold seemed to be in everything... though that could have just been the movies I went to see.

He was excellent in the underrated, underseen Moonlight Mile. I think he's still got it, just needs a few more better roles than the abysmal Meet the Fockers.

Steven Seagal looked to me to be the next Clint Eastwood & Bruce Lee bput together in 1988. From THE GLIMMER MAN his movies have taken a big nose dive, but his weight has shot up.

I don't see how Harrison Ford is even in this discussion. There are tons of actors and actresses who should be mentioned way before Ford's name is even a thought in anyone's mind. Sure, his flicks aren't as consistantly great as they once were, but he's had his share of solid flicks since the really good days. K-19: The Widowmaker, What Lies Beneath, Air Force One, Sabrina, and Clear and Present Danger are all perfectly fine films, and a lot better that most of the other work from many of those listed in this very thread from the past ten yeas or so.

One that hasn't been mentioned yet that I'd bring up is Cuba Gooding Jr. Now, I know he wasn't mentioned because he wasn't really ever on the top for any considerble amount of time, but still. The guy started out strong with performances that got critical acclaim, and that led to his role in Jerry Maguire for which he won a Best Supporing Oscar. Right after that however, his career took a nose dive unlike most other careers in the history of film. His films seem to only get worse and worse as the years go by.

Also, she reportedly won't be back for the sequel to Batman Begins. I just think she's in danger of having her career overshadowed by her personal life (kind of like Affleck).

And so on...
Nutty Professor-Budget 54 million-Domestic BO 128million
Dr. Dolittle-Budget 71mil. Domestic BO 141mil.
Daddy Daycare-Budget 60mil Domestic BO 104Mil.
Haunted Mansion-Budget 90mil. Domestic BO 75MIl
Pluto Nash-well just look in the Guiness Book of records under Biggest Flop in History.
So Eddie may not doing films that he was doing 15-20 years ago but either is Tom Hanks or Jim Carrey, but he still makes big films that usually do well at the box office. So i wouldn't consider him on a downhill slope. It seems that a lot of his old fans are just upset that he not saying "fuck" every 25 seconds(not really). And if you consider BHC his last good film then Eddie has had one crappy career, since i think that was only his third film and it was 22 years ago.

It's one of my 10yr olds favorite movies, so i guess she's probably glad they didn't go that way.

Ahnold Anyone?

He made several what I would call Great movies in the 80's, but his last truly great movie was T2 Judgement Day. EVERYTHING since then has been either mediocore or just plain bad.

6th Day
End of Days
etc...

EDIT - Anyone chance he had a cameo in Day of the Dead or Six Days Seven Nights?

I was thinking the same thing. All I see in my mind's eye when her name is mentioned is her glassy-eyed face at P-Diddy's party and her nasty teat hanging out.

How about Claire Danes? I know she was recently in T3, but wasn't she supposed to be on the rise a few years ago?

Joe Pesci. He hasn't even been in a movie since 1998, though he'll have a role in Robert DeNiro's The Good Shepherd later this year. Aside from Casino and A Bronx Tale, he hasn't really had a great role since Goodfellas.

Everybody here has forgotten about Cuba Gooding Jr, who went from Jerry Maguire to Murder of Crows. You can put on that list:

Steve Guttenberg
Val Kilmer
Michael Keaton
Julia Stiles (although she still young)
Ben Affleck
Eddie Murphy
Roselyn Sanchez
PAtrick Swayze
Emilio Estevez
Sly Stallone

I think a lot of people might be confusing the difference between someone's career going downhill, and someone just not making movies anymore. Making progressively worse movies is one thing, but maybe some of these actors/actresses are just getting tired of making movies, and they're doing other things. Doesn't necessarily mean they're "going downhill".
