Honestly, no real surprises here. A family movie and a movie aimed at teens doing better than a serious film for adults that is very polarizing by nature (the idea of the film itself moreso than the actual film). I think United 93 will pull to the #2 spot by the full weekend figures, though.

I'm blown away that RV is #1. I honestly thought it would be a huge bomb. Wow.

Let's not forget RV's slightly higher 3,639 screen count compared to the 2nd and 3rd place films...shows you how pathetic its #1 opening will actually be.

Wow, I really thought United 93 might pull an upset and clear $20 million this weekend based on the kudos it's gettng.

I think it'll have a solid run. It would have been #1 this week easily if it had opened in as many theaters as RV did.

Yep, I think this is a film that will have legs instead of being front-loaded like most everything released nowadays.

I don't think it has the room to have legs with films like M:I 3 coming out next week.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one who wants to STICK IT.

Hopefully, I can make it to a 93 matinee today.

Well, it's not very often (if ever) that a movie can crack the Top 10 for a Friday will less than $1M:

10 The Wild $980,000 2,605 / $376 $24,691,000 / 15

Apparently that's how this weekend generally is. As bad as this weekend seems, it's apparently up 14% from the same weekend last year.

The matinee of United 93 that I saw this afternoon might have been at 15% capacity.
