Ice Age 2 in it's third weekend doubling up on The Wild in it's debut. Not good news for Disney. Quite a run for IA2.

i cant believe scary movie is doing well Scary Movie 2+3 were both awful. I actually bought the 3rd movie but only could get through 15 minutes of it. Anna Faris was good in the first one, but in every other one I thought she was horrid in them

Of course, Scary Movie 3 made 50 million OW when part 2 was awful...so...it's not that surprising.

Because people will see anything as long as it's marketed right. Take the countless PG-13 horror flicks...all usually open at #1.

Well, you have to know your target audience. For films, the reason there's so many of those PG-13 crapfest is because they make more than R films. Main reason for that is that folks under 17 are the ones who have the throw away income to pay for the movie tickets.

I put my 16 bucks toward Thank You For Smoking this evening & was glad I did. Great satire and an all around good movie. I hope it does well.

It helped Scary Movie 4 that a lot of kids had Good Friday off from school.

So much for a $60 million opening for Scary Movie 4. According to showbizdata.com, the film earned around $13 million on Saturday, a $5 million drop from Friday. Which means word of mouth is, not surprisingly, terrible.

You also forgot to mention that all the other heavy hitters took a drop as well on Saturday. Then everything else took a 40-45% drop (which is usually normal) on Sunday.

I would think that some of the drop for Sunday (other than the normal small drops that usually occur) would be that it is Easter. I know some attend films that day, but many people may be doing family/church/religious/other things instead of normally attending a film.

Probably due to people taking Friday off, or getting it off as a floating holiday... Not me though...

Spring break may have been last wk for a lot of schools as well...it was for the ones around here.
