yeah, it's one of my most anticipated films of the year.

It most certainly does look interesting. Color me intrigued.

arrow in the head had a great review for this flick awhile back. would of forgot about it but it is playing at philly film fest. i posted before about Evil (greek zombie movie) and Evil Alien (campy comedy/horror flick) that were also playing. unfortunately, i won't be able to see any of them, plus for other cool films that i wanted to see.

oh well, nothing to bring to the thread other than arrow said it was good (his reviews almost alwyas stand up.. to genre fans atleast) and that it was playing and i really wanted to see it.

I'll check it out! Based on the title I was expecting some sort of B-grade action/thriller "starring" Christian Slater.

Looks like an 'Audition' rip-off to me.

Been looking forward to this since Sundance 2005.

I guess I'm in the minority but I thought Audition was a pretty bad movie with a semi-cool ending..........

Maybe not a rip-off, but they have a similar feel to it. You're not wrong.

I saw the trailer before Hostel. It certainly looked better than the movie with Kane in it.
I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Yeah, the comment was a spoiler, and i'd be pissed if I hadn't already seen the movie. Fortunately, I saw it earlier tonight :)

It was great, I loved it. I've never seen audition, but this film has almost no violence at all, it's really all implied stuff.

I gotta say, it's very effective.

I'm not sure, i've read a few different interpretations. Maybe how adults always tell kids "Never take candy from strangers"?

And Audition was "inspired" by Boy Meets Girl. Almost every film has antecedents.

The title is in reference to the girl, it is a symbol. Candy is sweet, but hard candy can also hurt you. Outside appearances may hide interior deviousness.

two strong thumbs up on Ebert and Roeper who cautioned it won't be for everyone and was tough viewing, but something worth seeing.
