Unbreakable is the ultimate king of this category though: I was livid by the end of that movie and wanted my money back.

Red Eye
Donnie Darko.

wedding crashers, a funny movie goes 20 minutes too long and becomes a cliche'd date movie.

Being John Malkovich was one for me. Loved it at first, liked it less and less as it went on, and by the end I no longer liked it.

I agree. I found myself laughing less and less as the movie crawled to its end.

Some of you seem to be thinking I am stating the movies I listed as what ARE classified as good movies with a crash and burn ending. They are just what were good movies to me until the end, that doesn't mean everyone else.
Another one that springs to mind is Last Samurai, I loved most of the movie, but when
Spoiler:
Tom Cruise is the only one who survives the battle and then proceeds to have his typical happy ending, that lost me.

While not a crash and burn, I felt Intolerable Cruelty started as another typical Coen Bros. comedy, and the turned into a studio effort in the last twenty minutes.

Chasing Amy's 2nd-to-last scene has always bugged me.

Magnolia's "shower" at the end also nearly ruined a previously great film.

I will forever believe that Jeepers Creepers could have been a truly great horror flick, had they not went where they went with it. Of course it wasn't the very end either, more like half way through I think. I forget how far it was into it that it totally went to shit.

Anyone who has seen it will know exactly what I'm talking about.

Event Horizon and Explorers immediately come to mind.

As much as I love the film, Dark City comes close to flying off the rails with the "brain waves" fight near the end. Thankfully, it calms down after that.

Explorers was a good one...as was Signs.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say A History of Violence. Movie had me on the edge of my seat for two thirds of it, then I kinda lost interest.
