Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector. A "bold new vision" in comedy!
http://www.healthinspectorthemovie.c...aper_1_800.jpg
Plot Summary: Irreverent as ever, Larry The Cable Guy plays a big city health inspector who's happy with his usual beat of greasy spoon diners and low-rent ethnic restaurants. His easygoing life is turned upside-down when he's saddled with a straight-arrow rookie partner (Iris Bahr) and assigned the biggest case of his career: investigating an outbreak of mysterious food poisonings at the city's swankiest restaurants. Infuriating restaurateurs with his bad manners, Larry still manages to charm a sweet, shy waitress (Megyn Price) into a budding romance. But when his unorthodox methods cost him his job, Larry has to go undercover to bring the conspirators to justice and 'Git-R-Done!' The writing duo of Max Keeble's Big Move returns! The reviews are pouring in with praise, with the film getting 72% positive on Rotten Tomatoes. Some quotes from reviews: "This is serious grown-up entertainment with a sense of history and a sense of style, the kind of picture almost no one knows how to - - or, perhaps more accurately, can find the means to - - make anymore." -- Stephanie Zacharek, SALON.COM "Director Trent Cooper captures the pathos of the modern South with unflinching veracity turning what could've been a disastrous failure into a poignant and compelling character study of the modern American." -- Kenneth Turan, LOS ANGELES TIMES "This is an unnerving mood piece that is as atmospheric as it is funny. Perhaps the most surprising new American comedy since Fear of a Black Hat." -- Jami Bernard, NEW YORK DAILY NEWS "Those who appreciate this bold new vision in comedy will find much to savor -- the procession of enchanting and spectacular images is intoxicating." -- Robert Denerstein, DENVER ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS <hr> I'm seeing it tonight, and possibly tomorrow as well based on these positive news. Is anyone else? |
I thought we were done with Cottington threads... -ohbfrank-

 Those quotes are real? Because it looks like the shittiest movie ever.
|
I think BWG wrote those quotes.
What's the over/under on his catch phrase? |
I hope he says "Git 'er done" in this movie. :fc:
|
Rottentomatoes has no reviews of this film up yet, and Salon.com has no review up yet.
|
What's the rating? If it's not "R," it's not even worth a rental.

No reviews anywhere really for it. But it looks like it could be really bad. And not in a good way. -ohbfrank-

Suffice it to say if everyone on a forum associates your name with big hairy man-love you got your message out. Mission accomplished!
And that's the last I'll say on the subject. I made my point. I'll not berate you with it any longer. Like I said in the other thread I'm not going to put you in the ignore list because I value your contribution otherwise.:) Enjoy your weekend! :toast: |
I enjoy him and even saw him live. But it looks like a bad movie. I'll rent it, but it still looks like a bad movie.

You had me at Fear of a Black Hat!!!

I really don't know why they're so concerned. If someone actually finds this guy's racist, homophobic semi-literate tripe to be entertaining, no bad review will stop them. |

And then the movie gets the Wagging Finger of Shame !!! |

That Larry The Cable Guy is starring in a movie is going to cause that guy from Arrested Development to have a stroke.
Looks like a renter to me though. |

Goddamn fucking hick... |
This movie looks so stoooopid.... The one joke in the trailer that TOTALLY turned me off to this flick was the one about farting and cracking your back. Mind you, I LOVE fart jokes. But that guy fuck up a fart joke!!! How do you fuck up a fart joke?!?!?!
|
Not a fan. His schtick got real old real fast.

It's possible. According to the reviews on rotten tomatoes (a 13% rating, by the way), this movie is so bad they couldn't even come up with good diarrhea jokes.
|
Not a fan of his, but this looks really, really bad. Looks like they used up most of the material in the trailer.
